Lol! I know where you're coming from.
I'd ask around on here, cause I'm not 100% tech savvey - got my dad to help me when I did it! There are plenty of bods on here that'll talk you through it. It really isn't that difficult - undo a couple of bolts and the front callipers come off.
I've a question for you guys. What exhaust can you recommend?
These are my requirements;
Stainless steel (obviously).
Rear tips look similar to standard.
Matched rear lengths - so airflow from both exhausts is the same.
Volume - quiet(ish) but with a nice burble when you get it going...
For a start mate, you shouldn't have accepted the fact that they changed your pads without consent! I personally would have given them a complete rocketing for that, and been on to trading standards - they can't do ANYTHING to your car without first asking.
Secondly, £55 is quite steep for pads...
Saw a blue 182 on Fradley Park this morning about 08:15 - I was in a Black 182 (with a distinctive white primer spot on my bonnet) - came ragging up behind you, but turned into my work.
I've just removed my acoustic valve from my 182, but I've noticed there is a tube coming from the front of the manifold. Is this a vaccum tube, and if so, am I ok to block it? If not, what is it, and what shoud I do with it?
URGENT RESPONSE as am under car!
pita? Dunno what you mean by that.
But if what you are meaning is that it'd be horrible to drive everyday on the road, yeah, I know, but think of the gear change speeds!
as I feared! Bugger!
Well, I think I'll try it anyway - I can't leave it as is cause it's going rusty.
Attached are a couple of pics (all be it badly taken ones as I did them on my phone).
not a big dent - it's just pushed it in where the rock/stone/bug-in-crash-hat hit. It hasn't creased the metal, which is the important thing. The actual dent/chip site can be filled once I've taken it back to the metal. It's the painting part I'm a little worried about.
It's quite a hefty one - I'll sort some pics when I get home - am at work at the minute.
It's a right sod to get at because of the double skin - it's dented the surrounding area as well. Looks a right mess! I'm pretty sure it was a big stone on the motorway. either that, or the bugs around by...
I've a dirty great stone chip in my bonnet that every quote I've had says that I'm going to have to have my WHOLE bonnet resprayed because of the colour of it - Black Gold. So instead of it being a £60 repair, I'm looking at the best part of £250. So, because of this I thought I'm gonna have a...
What I had along side me LOOKED like a willy - gold wheels, blue paint, "williams" badge on the back. As said above, could have been a reproduction, but who knows.
My 182 does the same. I think it's a peculiarity of the "fly-by-wire" system on the throttle - doesn't have any affect on the power (it doesn't affect the full-throttle point, unfortunately!)
I'd be interested to hear other peoples views on it though. I'd like to be proved wrong!
either will do if you're after better stopping power. I'm running Mintex Extremes with EBC grooved discs - there are stories of the Mintex squeeling, but I've had no problems with them - guess it's cause I took it good and steady to "break" them in (no punn intended!)
It's all a matter of...
