I'm sick of big BMW cars and just sold my 125d last week after having 335d Coupe / 320d saloon and now bored and fancy a switch. Was gonna go for a Big V8 but after pottering about in my 172 cup which is mainly a track car I'm starting to enjoy it lol except the worst squealing brakes I have...
Glad its not just me then lol, Black next time or by the time i get them done again they will probably be Anthracite/Black anyway save myself a few £££ lol
I have the CL pads and find them very good on my last 2 days at Oulton but my white 2118's a ruined lol note to self don't do my track wheels in white. On the road they sqeal/sqeak like nothing I've ever heard lol tried all sorts to clean them too...
yeah i made my own plates as the ones that come with the kit seemed too small, I looked over the MSA blue book just for some info on the size they should be even though I'm not competing and the size they say is almost 3x the size the ones he supplies. I have my own spreaders inside the car and...
I have one fitted with spreader plates (pics on page one) but the plates have to be welded in was just wondering if the stick weld would be good enough as opposed to MIG/TIG
Can these be stick welded in? or do they have to be MIG/TIG welded? only wondering as i don't have access to a MIG/TIG but the car is only use for track days not competition or anything. If they do have to be MIG/TIG I could always go to a local Fab shop where i know they guys. Would rather do...
I was going to try something like this on my PH2 if i ever get round to it and find a suitable place to move my cold air feed to my Maxogen kit

Just a few more questions @MasonR27 Did you sell the Carbon diffuser that came on the car when you bought it? I assume It's not still on the car but can't tell from the pictures and it's not in the advert? And is there any marks or anything from where you fitted the roll cage and removed it, did...
Awesome mate thanks for the offer @Knuckles . What you doing Sunday if that's good for you I can call over meet you  I dont mind the hard setup I have used my track clio on the road a few times and taken it for work to be done and it doesn't bother me plus I only do about 4-5k a year if...
Thanks @MasonR27 guess I'm going to have some thinking to do and search for a test drive and see if i like it. Would you do any Clio Sport members discount? lol (had to ask) PM me if you don't wanna discus price in here. I'm assuming I could test drive any 197 and there wouldn't be...
@MasonR27 is this your car? I'm in two minds as to buy myself a 197 just trying to get one to test drive local as I'm 4 and a half hours from you lol. How bad does the notch on the gearbox feel?
Am I right in assuming the headlights from any PH2 Clio will fit my 172 Cup.. I need some for my MOT soon on my track car and seen some from a 2003 Clio and was going to buy them.
Stu
52 Plate 172 cup 20mpg average after a day at Outon Park and about 25mpg using it for work and daily stuff (lots of short trips) had 29mpg doing some motorway stuff today only (30 miles though)
also had the same my drivers was something like 10min and passenger was 30min.. don't really notice much myself on track but I'm not a great driver lol
Tempted lol I want a run about if my BMW is sold on Saturday and have been impressed with my 52 plate 172 cup track car I would consider one of these love the colour.
I have a 125d 13 plate and I'm 28 with 7 years NCB (protected) and an SP30, ok postcode as far as I'm aware and pay £600 with my missus as a named driver she is 24 that's with Admiral (via GoCompare) although Greenlight were cheapest for my 172 Cup track car I don't think the insure BMW's
Yeah I got 5 copper gearbox washers from Adam @Renault Wolverhampton delivered for about £2.50 they are 32p each. I bought my sump plug washers from eBay got 5 for £2.50 would have got them all from Adam but already had the sump ones before hand. @masekwm
I also paid the full amount via ebay/paypal for the cage with harness bars etc £188 he didn't charge me £130 then re invoice me. Still very happy with the cage and had a few people look at it while at Oulton and comment saying it looks more expensive than £188 worth lol.
Might be me that's missed it lol I'm yet to do the oil change on my gearbox and thought that there was another hole or something above the drain plug, I'm gonna put the 3 litres in and see if there is any leaking out lol then top up the extra couple of hundred mill if it needs it (3.1 litres I...
Think he means putting a hose into the filling point not the hole where it comes out when you have the correct level in the box. If you filled it up to the filling hole you would have overfilled it I'm guessing.
Speak to Adam @Renault Wolverhampton he should be able to sort you out. They are in the traders section (you need to upgrade your account to view that part of the forum though I think)
Cheers. Yeah I have just ordered 5 of those washers from Adam at Renault Wolverhampton better to have a few spare in the toolbox when they're only 32p lol
I 'think' that I used the bolts supplied they're only 8.8 still high tensile but I did have loads that I brought home from work so not 100% that I used the supplied ones. As said get the larger and thicker spreader plates if he will do them I read the msa blue book and seen how big and thick...
