Cheers I may call in at Renault and check I have a few of those dowty washers so if it is one of them I should be okay if it's the same size as the sump one.
I have one but made my own spreader plates as the ones in his 'kit' are crap imo same size as the feet on the cage and pretty thin (mine are 4mm thick steel plate and 8"x8" the rears are 3" and about 8" and have spreaders on either side of the car inside and out) the cage itself is very good...
I have the stainless washer with the rubber middle for the engine sump (is that a dowty) but I thought the gearbox washer was a copper crush one @bloke
Could anyone tell me if either of these would be ok to use when putting the plug back in? As far as I can tell the difference is size, if not i'll have to get off my arse and go Renault (I just like being lazy and ordering off ebay lol)
(unless anyone has a couple to sell me)
14x21x2...
I offered my wheel up to the hub and bolted them on off a few times after I had he same problem. Hub face was done with a drill and metal wire brush and sand paper and a block of wood, had no problems on the 2 days at Oulton (other than my white powder coat has turned grey/purple round the hub...
yeah I bought a few genuine filters with the sump plug washer off eBay for the oil changes, I was just wondering as I plan on changing the oil after say 4/5 track days which would be about 1000 miles (maybe every 6 months) as I've seen some people (mainly with bikes though) who just drop the oil...
Just wondering really if anyone who changes the oil regular on their track car changes the filter every time. I know they're only cheap and was just a thought too see what other people do I've just bought a few genuine oil filters of eBay for keeping on top of the engine oil changes.
I'll have a look tomorrow if I get chance to go see the car. I need to check some things out on the car just not enough hours in the day lol.
Thanks for the help guys and I'll try what you said @bloke and see if that helps.
Thanks Tony like I say its MAINLY used for track, I was just going to get the life out of them but think I'm getting some heat issues from the disc or caliper. Might not even be the disc as I don't get any vibration or feel anything through the steering wheel even under hard braking. Could this...
Quick one I have a set of carbon Lorraine pads which had plenty of life left in them BUT I think I have a slightly warped drivers side disc as when I was filtering in traffic back from Oulton park I could hear a very faint squeak..............squeak.................squeak at low speed and when I...
Doesn't feel tail happy only time I get any tail action lol is lift off oversteer which I don't mind now I've got used to it haha sh@t my pants first time.
@imprezaworks yeah it felt better to me and my dad said it did feel better to him as we both drove it at Oulton last week and again this week, but the weather was better this week so may have been difference with the tyres and heat etc and just being more confident.
I was going to have mine setup as I was in the same line of thinking to what Tony and Northloop said about it being set up, but to be fair mine looks pretty well setup and was used for sprints by the person who had I before me so maybe its already been done and the guy was just on about my car...
Yeah and it doesn't make that great a difference if your just tracking, race car yes. Just track days probably not worth it unless your on your own all the time for the corner weight.
When I was at Blink motorsport having my geometry set up the guy said to me that the back of my car looked a little low and might be better if it was up a little higher for track use although I wasn't getting a full suspension setup I may adjust them myself and see how it goes.
Paid £90 for the hour that was putting on the Hunter aligner to see what was needee and setting up the camber/toe etc on the front and I need shims for the rear as the toe was -10° on the passenger rear and -30° on the driver rear I had it set up to the Track demon setting. Picked their brains...
Not sure they were on the car when I bought it. Although after then 2nd day at Oulton the other wheel has done the same since I swapped the wheels round so I think it was possibly the heat as I 'THINK' my drivers side pad is rubbing on the disc not sure why caliper or disc slightly warped but...
Depends which one I choose lol don't mind changing the ATE a few times a year but the Motul or Castrol at the price I would probably refrain from regular changes, and depending how much time I get on track days to be fair.
Well I'm hopefully doing the fluids on my 172 Cup track car (Engine Oil, Gearbox Oil and Coolant) and was wondering as I cant decide what brake fluid to use, I have mates who do sprints and track days who use either the Motul or Castrol (they run a Supercharged BMW Mini and an E46 M3) so I'm...
Thanks @Lal B3N I did search on eBay honest lol just didn't see them link for future ref (if anyone wants it).... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Renault-Clio-172-182-Oil-Filter-/251328028182?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a84515e16
Had Goodyear efficient grip on my missus fiesta when she was at Uni commuting from Widnes to Edge Hill everyday and then to placement on the Wirral and they lasted well not much sign of wear when I sold it my brother (not sure how long they have left as changed car before they needed doing) and...
I seem to struggle most with Druids for some reason just can't bring myself to go too quick through there lol or get a decent line, well same for most of the track on the lines lol but speed wise Druids is the one I seem to loose the most speed on and probably Shell Oil. Think a little tuition...
Mine was the same I had no interior and kept getting water where the rear bench would have been I had a loose boot mechanism though and the boot wasn't closing tight, adjusted that and fitted new gromits as I broke the little clips on mine lol and not had an issue since.
I'm running the same as Fletcher (Brembo HC disc and CL pads) and its lasted me 2 full days at Oulton with no problems (last few laps I slightly boiled the brake fluid though lol just opened the bonnet and seen the brake fluid starting to bubble out the top, Still drove home with no problems...
