I'm working all day tomorrow so I'll PM you my mobile number now and just text me and let me know what they say. Just hope they don't balls anything up as I'm at Oulton on Tuesday lol even if they can't corner weight mine I will call over and have the tracking/alignment done.
Ask how much if they do two cars lol I'll take mine to be done. Group buy haha I couldn't half feel the difference when it was just me in the car compared to when my dad was in the passenger seat.
I was always under the impression track temps vary compared to ambient air temps like if the sun has been beating down all day on the tarmac it will be hotter than the air temperature around it.
The FIA stuff does look more like hard rubber even though I would prefer to bang me head on that rather than steel tube I would look into something like http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/roll-bar-padding/demon-tweeks-flame-retardant-roll-bar-padding-2 looks just like normal foam...
Thanks guys, Just going to double check we have the basic stuff in the van we will need and that the car is strapped down on the trailer properly, so i'll throw my butties in to stay cool and not forget them haha. Excited and nervous now for in the morning lol better than Christmas, Just need to...
Cheers mate. @imprezaworks just outta curiosity did they have catering at the track? I'm just debating on making some butties to throw in the van for lunch or buying overpriced crap when I'm there lol
Not been on a track before, well done the ring about 7 years ago but don't count that lol.
Any ideas what pressures to be running with the Michelin's? Was gonna try road pressures and just check and adjust as we go it's just where to start lol
I only use the clio on track and the very odd day...
Yeah was going to do that if I can't get on with the ps3 but hopefully they scrub in after a few laps. Might take it off the trailer and drive it to Oulton in the morning should put another 20 twisty miles on them to give them a little more scrubbing.
Well seems as the weather is that great I have a set of Michelin ps3 which I have done about 40 miles on now the car is on the trailer ready to go Oulton tomorrow will then lack of scrubbing in cause me any problem on track tomorrow? I have a part worn set of AD08r in the van 1.5mm on fronts...
Was debating on selling the wheels and part worn AD08r that are on them to fund a spare set of Team Dynamic 1.2 or something along those lines or just keep them and use them myself lol (after the hassle I just had with the refurb on the 2118's im in two minds lol). I will let you know though...
Already done it @JamesBryan the wheels on their own is a slightly older pic lol had to do the hub faces too, just wish I knew then what I know now and that I should have told the powder coater to mask them up.
Just need to move the Cold air feed and get some ducting to the front brake's and...
Well managed to get some stuff done lately... Took me all day (about 5 hours) to fit my rear cage. The spreader plates are 4mm thick and 7"x7" on the inside of the car floor and 4"x4" 6mm on the underside just incase, the rear arches have 3"x8" 4mm thick on either side of the arch all held in...
I was thinking of going to Blink myself as I'm not too far from you and don't know of anywhere local. Probably won't be before I go Oulton on Tuesday so will have to see how it goes then get it done and the see how it is when I go back on the 3rd February.
How was it today weather seemed decent.
I paid 4k for my 172 cup with 59k and just had dephaser and belts done. Quaife LSD, BC coil overs, ITG maxogen, Powerflow cat back, braided hoses, solid engine/gearbox mounts, whiteline rear anti roll bar, Cobra buckets and harnesses and the Sabelt steering wheel.
I had thought about buying...
Took the carpet and soundproof out and this was here just wondering if anyone knows what it's for. Gonna be bolting my cage down over weekend and if I get chance weld the spreader plates in place but they go where this cable runs I'm going to pull it out the way.
Think he means those Turini wheels are only 6 inch wide as opposed to if you bought other 15" wheels like the oz f1 alloys or some speed line 2118's which are 7 inch wide. More width on track more grip I would assume. I have 2118's on my track car
Local to me only charge £7 a tyre that's if I turn up with them and they do the lot or £15 if it's a run flat. But for my tyres I'm lucky my brothers best mate works for ATS as a mobile fitter he doesn't charge me anything and won't even take anything if I offer it him anyway even punctures and...
really like this shape and colour, almost bought a standard 197 cup for track but ended up with a 172 cup with mods as I would have blown all my budget on just the 197 lol
I have one on my 172 cup track car and it was on there when I bought it. My question is the cold air feed I have runs from the fog light up to to the ITG and I have read conflicting views on if its worth having the air feed running up to the filter some say it helps others say it just gets the...
Yeah I have a set for inside the car which if I have time before my first track day will be welded in, I was just gonna put a set under the car also for extra strength mainly on the rear of the arches in case of a head on and the force pulling on the harnesses.
Thanks for the info anyway guys...
That's good I can get some knocked up in work and get the cage fitted on the weekend does it make any difference if I go thicker than the 3mm? I know the body work isn't that thick so not sure if it's worth the extra thickness.
Quick one also will they fit under the car (near the sills for the...
