mine rattles everywhere as did my 172 its probably going to be the reason i get rid of it tbh. My sis in law has an ancient mk1 clio and it has absolutely no rattles whatsoever...... go figure
would piss me off if i owned a v6 to see a 1.2 tarted up liek a v6, just like it currently pisses me off seeing all the local boy racers having 2.0 badges on their 1.2 sheds.
i dont think its actually any part of the mount touching the outer surround making the noise, more the fact that the surround is allowing to much movement of the engine and something will be making contact somewhere as its a large engine in a small bay.
all car manufacturers do the same, they wouldnt have changed the stated times so as not to attract a higher insurance group.
Just look at the bhp/tonne figures between the two.

lolwhat are the 0-60s?? the same yep! so it matters little where the power is coz they get there at the same time.
not entirely true, Evo timed the 182 @ 6.6 and couldnt get the 172 below 7.1 and also the 172 was over a second slower 0-100...

yea isnt the 182 heavier by 20kgs or somthing like that ? surley 0-60 may be faster gearing or earlier power delivery. but by the tonne they would be even ?
the 182 is lighter than the 172 and has a far better power to weight ratio...
This is DEFINATELY the problem, (on mine anyway) but i dont see why anyone elses will be different. I used an old exhaust rubber and wrapped it round the mount temporarily and the noise was gone, just going to adjust it myself tomorrow morning. Nice one Faz182, nice one indeed, the noise has...
ive been out and rocked mine and it never moved anything like enough for the mount to touch the black cup surrouding it, nor could i hear the knocking while doing so. Although i really hope it is something as simple as that.
i think the pocketgps database is sh*t. shows LOADS of cameras where there isnt one in sight. Nothing compared to the Origin db, its great and has never once missed a location or given a false alarm.
you sure thats what it is? my 172 had 2 grills and the second one had nothing at all behind it and the first had the little fan which draws air in over a temp sensor for the CC. Why would it need 2 sensors? Just curious.
the 1.6 vti weigh 1250kg and only have a power to weight ration of 128bhp/tonne but still hit 60 in 7 secs flat and 100 in 21 so a fair old match for a 182 standard
