Immaculate and very nearly standard! If I could have a 172 and could pick any I liked it would be this one. Engine bay is freaking me out it's so clean!!
Looks damn, damn nice. I have to admit, I actually found myself questioning whether the 197's front end *is* better resolved than my 200's, even though I never did like the look of the 197 from when it came out, whereas I instantly fell in love with the 200 (in b4 'are you blind?' etc)! I still...
Well I've only done a couple of hundred miles, and traffic around here is horrendous, but I think it's on about 29 MPG, that includes the 168 mile delivery trip from Leeds, which was probably done pretty sedately by an old guy on motorways, so 29 might well be a fair reflection...
Trophy looks amazing! How shiny?! Nice garage too - envious. Never driven a trophy, would love to now to see how it compares to my 200, which feels supernaturally quick through the turny bits compared to my 172. Probably just as nimble but quite a bit lighter and torquey-er maybe?!
How much were xenons as an option on 197's then? I must say the lack of them on the 200 dented it's appeal for me for a long time. I got over it though, once I read the reviews!! Would still have spec'd them though and paid up to about a grand I think if they were available. It's a big part of a...
Awesome thanks very much for replying - will check with the spare again in a minute - didnt think I spotted it, but you never know!! Do they actually have a name - having a right job trying to find such a thing on Ebay!!
Eek I don't seem to have a 3 pronged key for my wheel covers in my box, although it contains a locking wheel nut. Is that where it is meant to be? And does anyone know how much replacements are? Available on Ebay? Thanks if you can help!
Happy to say that buyacar have come good! They couldn't do enough to help me in the end, even arranging to get my old part exchange Clio 172 taken away by truck so that I wouldn't have to worry about getting an MOT in 2 days! Yay, after 13 weeks, mine is finally coming Friday.
Just got an email from someone who has access to a Renault computer telling me a car with my exact spec arrived at a dealer 1st October. It's official that buyacar.co.uk suck big time. :-(
Lol! Mine is now at 12+ weeks. Ordered on 12th Aug and so far crashed the following deadlines: 30 Sept, 15 Oct, 30 Oct and currently on for 9 Nov which I fully expect to come and go too!
Excellent! You really are organised! Just a thought though - wouldn't your car have achieved 21mpg if it had been left ticking over without being driven anywhere during the usual movement/rearranging of cars in a dealership, especially over such a short period of 6 miles? :-S Sounds like you...
May well do mate, but as I've already waited 12 weeks, the last thing I want to do really is start the counter all over again, that would be a damn shame!
As subject really. Be interested to know anyone else's experiences. They were quick to take my deposit, but have now delayed my delivery four times and getting hold of anyone is like pulling teeth. Anyone had good or bad experiences?
Depends what you have been staring at for longest. I never had any interest in the 197, and spent hours scrutinising the 200s before buying one. When I actually looked at a 197 I found the front end looked really pinched in and beaky! That's what I thought about the Ph2 aswell actually when it...
Nice one! I also have a GW on order. Think that wait sounds bad?! You might be doing well only having to suffer 8 weeks - I'm in my 11th painful week now >.<
Yeah - was only an accident, if you want frustration try my mate who had a VW beetle sprayed metallic purple and a week later overnight some cnut(s) probably from a night out had actually played noughts and crosses on every panel with a key - actual games!!!
This is no help whatsoever, but my first MOT with my 172 was failed by it having LHD headlights! Never did find out how it got them as it isn't an import! (has alarm etc too). Got them swapped under guarantee in the end, and they said there was no conversion method...
Further reading has revealed that windows does not handle or have any interest in dealing with partitions on removable devices! Thought I had found a small HP utility but it isn't compatible with Win7 or Vista - my search continues. Might try on my Macbook later, but need to find a compatible...
