Depends on the road I suppose. V6 is a lot faster on a grand prix track thats for sure, but country lanes could be different I guess. As Mark says, in real life they can both go a lot faster than road conditions & traffic will allow, so there probably wouldnt be a lot in it.
Keep it for 2 years and promise yourself the new Renaultsport Clio 200bhp when it comes out. Youll only lose another couple of k on your 172 in the meantime.
Trouble with buying a 182 now could be that youll want the new one when it arrives in 2006!
Need to increase them to prevent the tyres rolling off the rims as Lee said. We run lower pressures on slicks, as they generate more friction and therefore more heat, but road tyres have much softer tyre walls (to give a comfortable ride) so they need higher pressures.
keep the 172. Youve only done 8000 miles - youre looking at the best part of £1 per mile depreciation! If you can afford that then Im glad for you, but I dont know many people who could!
OK will have a practice up at Tescos later :p It does seem to grip really well at the rear so its probably just a matter of being sufficiently brutal :devilish:

Stu - Ive been looking at getting a 182, but Id prefer a V6. If I can afford it then thats what Ill get. I also have to consider the practicality issues. The space in the rear, above the engine, can you use any of that space ...
I never get better than 23mpg, but my journeys are very short - less than 5 miles each way to work. used to get about 33mpg out of the 172.
But who cares? ;)
Insurance is £600 compared with about £450 on the 172.
I had a Mk2 172. Never had so much fun with a car. It was coming up to 3 years old so needed to be changed (have to use for work). V6 seemed the obvious choice.
All smiles so far :D
Cruise is a right laugh, but not for the reason you might think. Set it to 120mph, then slow down to about 50. Select 4th gear, hold your breath, remove your feet from the pedals, and hit "R".
Woooooooooosh! :D
