Megane is certainly a better bet for 99% of people. The V6 has inferior practicality, is noisy and is generally more expensive to run. You could make the same comparison with any family car.
But round a track, which I think is what this thread is meant to be about????? Come on, youre having a...
I think that £11995 is a bit of a teaser to be honest. Once youve added VAT and the road pack itll cost nearer £20k. If youre in any doubt about this, have a look at their stock list to get some actual prices on used cars. One example:

OK Its 124cm wide, and 21cm across. No real restriction vertically. The net is flexible though so the 21cm is not really a limit. The real limiting factor is the position of the seats.
What do they use to get air into the Vee on the RR? On a front-engined car they put a great big fan in front of the engine - did they do anything similar on your air intakes?

Just finished washing the car (had to stop it was getting dark!). Is there any way of effectively leathering the car when its brass-monkey weather? The water just seems to stick to it!
If you can get your 172 in your garage, a V6 will fit. I was worried about this when I swapped my 172 for the Vee so i borrowed one to try it out.
Mk1 V6 is a great car - the Mk2 may be a bit better out of the box, but there are lots of things you can do to a Mk1 to improve it.

^^ youd lose big-time if it was Silverstone or Donington Park, youd win if it was Curborough. At Spa in September the V6 had more speed in a straight-line and more grip in the corners. It was no contest.
On a tight twisty track the agility of the Cup (or any 172) might give it the edge.
