    Megane 225 better than mk2 V6

true, but you still wouldnt own a V6 :D
  4. telford_mike

How come these are so cheap !

So how come the used one is £17k? VAT on £14980 still amounts to £17,600.

    Megane 225 better than mk2 V6

Megane is certainly a better bet for 99% of people. The V6 has inferior practicality, is noisy and is generally more expensive to run. You could make the same comparison with any family car. But round a track, which I think is what this thread is meant to be about????? Come on, youre having a...

How come these are so cheap !

I think that £11995 is a bit of a teaser to be honest. Once youve added VAT and the road pack itll cost nearer £20k. If youre in any doubt about this, have a look at their stock list to get some actual prices on used cars. One example: 2003 52 Reg Honda Integra Type R, Championship White...

182’s - how many miles to the tank

LOL is that on proper stuff or chip fat? ;)

Possible to get a 172 for 6/6.5 grand

easy to get one for that price - the 182 really blew the bottom out of the 172 market. Place a wanted ad in the appropriate forum.

Hi new here can you help

No difference really, but bear in mind that if you get an early Mk2 you still wont get ESP/TC.

    oil change 1000 miles

no need really. A lot of people do it at around 6k though.

Specialist question for V6 owners :-)

OK Its 124cm wide, and 21cm across. No real restriction vertically. The net is flexible though so the 21cm is not really a limit. The real limiting factor is the position of the seats.

Specialist question for V6 owners :-)

Depends how far back the seats are *goes to find tape*

    V6 on RR

What do they use to get air into the Vee on the RR? On a front-engined car they put a great big fan in front of the engine - did they do anything similar on your air intakes?

    182 brakes

They work much better when theyre warm - like most brakes, but I dont remember the brakes on my 172 being less than adequate when they were cold.

    looking @ buying a cilo V6

There are Mk1s available for around £12k or £13k these days - bargain of the century IMO.

    V6 on RR

If you have £2,500 to spend, send a PM to BenR and hell do a proper job including the things you mention, and probably get you an extra 40bhp.

    V6 on RR

The standard exhaust does appear to be the weak point power-wise. +16 bhp is quite realistic.

    looking @ buying a cilo V6

Lol, had mine 2 months now (Mk2) Its awesome :D Do a search there are lots of V6 threads. Oh by the way, August next year may be too late - V6 production is due to end some time next year, and there will be no replacement.

    Cupra-R scalps 182 Cup....

Cupra R is a good car, particularly on wide flowing circuits. The Clio would beat it on a tighter circuit. £18k car beats £12k car. No surprise there then.

Washing car when it’s freezing cold

True, but theres only about 2 inches between the car and the wall on one side. Suppose I could do one side then reverse in and do the other :D:p Will try the warm chamoix trick when I next wash the car in March.

Washing car when it’s freezing cold

Just finished washing the car (had to stop it was getting dark!). Is there any way of effectively leathering the car when its brass-monkey weather? The water just seems to stick to it!

    Clio V6 mk1 & mk11

They rev to 7200 I believe, same as a 172.

    Clio V6 mk1 & mk11

If you can get your 172 in your garage, a V6 will fit. I was worried about this when I swapped my 172 for the Vee so i borrowed one to try it out. Mk1 V6 is a great car - the Mk2 may be a bit better out of the box, but there are lots of things you can do to a Mk1 to improve it. Welcome to...

    CUP v V6

^^ youd lose big-time if it was Silverstone or Donington Park, youd win if it was Curborough. At Spa in September the V6 had more speed in a straight-line and more grip in the corners. It was no contest. On a tight twisty track the agility of the Cup (or any 172) might give it the edge. Ive...
