Guy at our office has one. Commutes in around 60 miles every day - they really will do 65mpg on this sort of motoring. Can easily sort the handling with a set of Eibachs. Good car IMO.
Try it and see? Youll probably feel a difference.
Im assuming you have the 1.6 16v engine. We have the same in our Megane, and you can feel the difference.
have you tried pushing the bonnet down Tony? If it didnt fully close last time it might be reluctant to release. (Be carful - its made of French cardboard)
Thats why I asked about the pressure washer - these chemicals make me nervous. No-one from here appears to have tried a steam cleaner, so Ill get one and see what happens.
How good are those electric pressure washers for cleaning wheels? Do they do the full job, or would I still need to use a brush to get the brake dust off?
A lot of this is down to personal opinion/preference, so you might well get a lot of different views. IMO Toyos are great if youre on a budget. If money is no object you might try Goodyear Eagles (for double the price). The Toyos wont last as long, but they do grip very well.
Id be a bit dubious tbh mate. If it was that cheap / easy why hasnt he done it himself before putting the car up for sale?
It may well cost £60, but I guess if you budget £200 and factor that into the price you offer him youll have covered yourself. Even painting the whole wing wouldnt cost...
You can easily get a good Mk1 172 for that sort of money. Engine and gearbox are both strong. No serious weak points, just niggly little things, electrics, exhaust, stuff like that.
welcome to Cliosport by the way :)
