My car never had the Rota's on with standard ride height, but at 40mm lower they didn't rub at all, not even on full lock.
They car has now got coilovers and been dropped to -59mm on the rear and -63mm on the front. The rears have plenty of clearance (could easily drop further), the fronts...
I think that mini looks alright, its the best bodykit I've seen on one yet. Can't stand the usual dealer-fit crap that they stick on. Would look sweet in gunmetal or black.
If you did, would it be a warm room with a TV? ;)
I've visited GDI a few times and it's a great environment for the work that goes on there; lots of communication and nothing to hide. Stay long enough and the tea appears too! :)
From what I understand, the Racelogic system will reduce power to the engine (and therefore the driven wheels) when they sense slippage, but it will not brake any wheels (like a conventional ESP system will), so lift-off oversteer and understeer from entering a corner too fast will not be...
Forget your glittering jap rubbish, if SQ is what you're after, check out Becker
Fits flush into the dash too, so looks almost OEM. The sound is well worth the money, and it doesn't have all the Q-Bass, Xpand, F-off stuff because it simply doesn't need it.
But racelogic doesn't do ESP does it?
I had a rather large sideways moment (lift-off oversteer) the other day, and the light-flashed but nothing happened. Fortunately I'm a driving god so I corrected it ;)
Can't be bothered to turn it off on a daily basis though, even if it is rubbish.
I've just fitted DS2500's all round on my 182, and I am truly astonished by the difference it has made. They get my vote. Brakes are an area where I'd happily spend a little bit extra.
My car is completely standard apart from a BMC CDA and it has made the car feel more torquey. The sound is just as good as the Viper, but it costs £70 less (and is better made imo).
What size are the standard Clio (mk2) wheel bolts (e.g. M12 x 1.5)?
Can anyone suggest some good locking wheel nuts that will fit in a smallish hole? McGard are too lardy.
Thanks.
For great noise and no loss of power, go for a BMC CDA. Its cheaper and easily as good as a Viper (I reckon better, but thats my opinion).
The cold air feed that comes with it is a bit ott and difficult to install, but the CDA is great!
