Have you made the trip computer read "-----" for "Miles Remaining"? The petrol light comes on just after this point when the gauge is right at the bottom. Ive then done a couple of miles after this point and not run out. It does give you loads of warning.
Only thing thatd put me off the Hill Power filter is that I dont think its sealed. If it isnt sealed, then I might as well just stick with my current K&N filter which I have located in front of the battery where the standard air feeds are.
Still, it does look mighty good and I bet it sounds...
Feck knows who they are, just sounds like Linkin Park or something  Im sure its fine in the right context, just not drowning out some lovely throttle bodies :D
There was something on the forum a while back about malicious damage cover. Did anything ever come of this? What company was it with?
Does anyone know of any companies that provide this sort of cover?
Any chance of some vids without the dodgy music over the top? Call me crazy, but Id rather listen to a 172 on throttle bodies than some "nu-metal" dirge.
Please please please Mr. Weight, any chance of a non-metalled version?!
I always find that back to black just covers the side of the car in boot polish with just runs off within days meaning you have to do it every time you wash the car.
Does the Autoglym stuff actually remove the wax or just try to hide it?
Is this one of the ones that wires in to the coil? Was it hard to fit? Any pics? How much etc. etc?!
And yes, the dashboard shift light is just on the 172s. Later MK1 172s dont have them for some reason.
And Im not joking. Ive just bought a 500cc Suzuki motorbike for commuting and keeping the miles off the 172 (its on 30,000 now and Id like to keep it there for a while). Ive just spent a couple of days neglecting the car so i could play with my new motorbike.
Anyway, I got in the car the other...
Not the case from what Ive seen. Williams / Valver clocks over read by 2.5mph on the ones that Ive tested out. All 172 (Cup, MK1 and MK2) clocks were within 1mph from low speed up to top speed.
Top speed in my mk1 is 145mph, with a mile long downhill straight to help out. It was definitely...
lmao @ fred, it can be swapped in and out, but due to the location of the engine side mountings, its anything but easy to do and ideally needs two people and a box of band-aid. Or pay your local exhaust place £25 to do it.
lol, will take a look later and put the details up.
Cheers!
PS: Mind you, insurance have paid out, so I assume the car wouldnt be mine if it was recovered? Or maybe theyd let me buy it back on the cheap
Airfilter, decat and RSport chip and you will have a car capable of 14.1 second 1/4 mile times - a full second ahead of a standard 172. Forget bhp, these relatively cheap mods are the way forward. Not seen and LAD cars running 14.1 1.4 mile times, and these mods will only set you back £500 or...
Well, as I said before, it wont turn your 172 into a different car, but for less than £100 you can have much better engine pick up, a great "wooooshing" noise, louder exhaust note and, I reckon from my AP22 runs (all conducted on the same road in both directions) about 0.2 seconds off the 0-60...
My MK1 has a Devil decat pipe on it, and TimO and CharlieCup have both decatted Cups. Well, well worth it. Dont think about it. Just do it.
Edit - oh yeah, f**k sports cats, just get a straight thru pipe on, you know u want to!
