Yup its unfortunately the only way to get another key fella. I thought i was in the same boat when i couldn't find my spare last month....fortunately i put it somewhere safe (which you can never rememer where exactly it is)

Bad luck mate, its pretty much a cut and dry case as far as liability goes. Just get him to cough up the cash or put it through his insurers.
