looks good but not practical unless you never drive your car on english roads lol (speeds bumps + pot holes + low ass suspension = painful experience). My 172 was pretty low on H&R coilovers and the ride quality got boring
on there now mate, steGSI :)
had a couple of probs at the moment, the AFM is screwed which means the traction control light and emissions light are both on. and power delivery is pretty jerky! hopefully replacing it today though!!
not really, a completely standard 172 would probably be 6 or 7 out of 10.
you've not been in my old 172 so you can't really express an opinion on that to be honest
Said I'd put up a comparison once I'd done a few more miles in my GSI. Sold the flamer to a fellow member on here (cliolou). I miss it, but not as much as I'd thought. I'd had it knocking on 2 years and spent loads on it (coilovers, wheels, brakes, cam belt, alternator, spoiler, splitter etc...
Yeah I prefer the other colours in all honesty. Would love an arden blue or red one! But this one came up at the right time, was the right spec, pretty low mileage (38k), had the timing belt and water pump done, 12 months MOT etc etc and was cheaper than most of the others.
even though you've already set off, you'll only need about £30 for petrol lol. Its about 300 miles from preston to devon, it has enough in it to do about 100 miles, to £30 will be more than enough for the other 200 miles of motorway driving. I reckon you'll be surprised at the MPG, it's...
I will miss it :( cleaned it up last week before putting it in the garage and took it out this morning and it's all shiney and looks ace. Have fun driving all the way back to devon lol. See you in a couple of hours!
Yeah its 197bhp standard. Think it's same engine as the astra VXR just with smaller turbo etc. Quite a few people do the vxr conversion, canny be arsed with that to be honest. I suppose it's just an astra at the end of the day, as said there's little to do to them cosmetic wise without making it...
Well after selling the 172 to a fellow member (even though transaction is yet to be completed lol, its 99% there though), I've kinda jumped into getting a mk4 astra gsi. It's not a long term thing, just wanted a bit of a toy with boost and that's bigger and more comfortable than a coilover'd...
nope not regretted it, i will regret selling it though lol.
only probs as people have said are rattles etc which are expected of a 5 year old renault!
The only techincal problem I've had in 2 years is the stop and oil light coming on for the oil pressure, replacing the switch tomorrow :)...
Cheers for the comments. Speedlins are popular as they look good, not saying my car is any different to a lot of others on here, just wanted to post some pics cos i haven't for a while.
the exhaust is a piper one i got from GDI with a JP exhausts 3.5" inward rolled slash cut tip
I've got a choice to make now, either sell my 172 and buy something like a focus ST, astra VXR, mk4 R32 or similar (basically something that doesn't rattle etc), or keep it and spend a bit of money on it over a few months, i.e. buckets, cage, decat, remap etc.
Ideally i'd keep it and just make...
