not sure about age restrictions. I doubt whether pliers will be strong enough, a hammer will probably be needed depending on thickness. You need real heat, a lighter wont give you that.

good lad! Heat to cherry colour and allow to cool on its own. drenching in water will cause it to become brittle. Look at me the scientist lol

Heat it first where you want it to bend - this softens the metal and will allow it to stretch, rather than shatter or fracture. Blow torch or similar will suffice. Then tw@t it with a hammer.

I need to see a picture of the spring and rod that connect the rear beam and load sensing valve on a 172 cup. Mine has just failed MOT and needs these parts, but they are only available from renault as a complete unit for £80 + vat!!!
