i bought self tapping screws today to fit a laguna splitter to my rt.
do i need to drill pilot holes? im worried about screwing them in and cracking the bumper..
also, i need to cut the ends off. should i just use a stanley and sand down so its smooth?
noticed today something sounds and feels like its knocking when i start my car up from cold at 1500rpm.
it seems fine once the engine warms up and the car settles idling at 1000.
any ideas? im no mechanical genius
the material bit on my divers side doorcard is coming away from the panel.
can i just pop the panel off and reglue it? i dont want to just yank it incase i break something.
ive sprayed my wingmirrors and im semi happy with the finish. i want them shinyer.
with the laquer, should i sand it down with wet and dry 1500 or something and apply another layer until its shiny?
my main worry is when you sand it it looks a bit crap, and im worried the laquer wont make it...
just wondering whos done the above.
id like to do mine possibly in summer. Id need some spare wheels though.
how much has it cost you altogether? any advice other than whats in the guide on here?
i noticed after ive been driving my RT in the rain some sort of oil comes out from the engine. but after the cars been sitting there for half an hour it kinda washes away.
any ideas what this could be? its sortof silver/blue in colour in the wet.
Im in need of a splitter for my mk1 RT. seen an ibiza one on a valver which looked awesome.
would it fit?
are they hard to come by?
and is it a pain in the arse to fit?
im also worried it might snap off going over a speed bump though....

anyway one will need sanded back and resprayed because it has a deep scratch in it.
are there any guides for painting plastic online?
im good at the actual spraying technique., its the process and what grades of sandpaper i need...
blacked out lights at the back too. needed a wash. i was amused that you had "arsehole^" written in the dirt on your passengerside door, pointing to the girl sitting there.
Ive asked a while back but I have photos now.
The back wheels scrub basically, and the arches slice maybe 2mm max into the tyre.
you can see in the photos part of the arch is bent back on itself from where the wheels scrub.
what you all think?
Whats the average cost to get rid of rust spots on arches etc?
ive got 3 main patches of rust atm. Thinking of investing some money towards getting them sorted.
i have a chip in my windscreen i want done by these guys.
i know i can get it done free because im comprehensive...
although will elephant take note come renewal time? and if so how much extra do you think theyd try and make me pay?
