Reanult engine mounts are fairly soft so you do get a bit of movement. My old 182 had loads of movement.
As long as you cant hear or feel any knocking under hard accelerationI would not sorry too much.
I have been with green light just over a year and I can't praise them enough. They will pretty much insure any mods (excluding decat) and they also provide cheap track day insurnace.
I have found the sevice to be excellent althouhg thankfully never had to make a claim.
There very different...
Suggestions:
CF bonnet or fibre glass, or remove the metal struts in the bonnet.
Drill holes in panels
Strip inside door metal off
CF door mirros
Poly carb windows
Only run drivers seat
Remove the dash board you pu$$ey :-p
Remove heaters
Must be another 40kg right there!
Good work so far but...
Use penertrating oil like WD-40.. spray this on the axel stub and wack the hell out of the disc. Make sure you hit the top and bottom equaly or you could get the disc stuck.
Im gonna go a head and say no. Unless shes doing hand brake turns? lol
Are the rear brakes drums or disc's?........ doesn't matter as a hand brake wouldn't damage a bearing.
None what so ever, if you look at the RR graph you can see its quite a linear result.
Think the turbo uses ball bearings for the shaft and also its not a massive turbo.
The weird thing is that it doesn't feel much quicker than my 172.... think thats becasue of the power/torque delievery.
Love the torque surge! uummmmm lovely. :-D
Stan, thanks for all your advice.
Seen as I will only be doing less than 5,000 miles a year in it in hoping that she should be able to reliably cope with 220bhp. If/when something goes pop I will take the opurtunity to install forged components.
Took a look at your website, got some...
I asked a few other turbo clio owners and they say that 10 psi is about the max you can go to on standard internals and low comp pistons.
Im prob going to take it to RStuning in Leeds and do a 'live mapping' session on Pauls RR, see what we get out of her. Id be happy with 220 bhp.
Would...
This guy obviously pushes his clio sport to the max lol.
Dude how you not know where rev limit is at? On a standard RS clio its 7,250 and on remapped RS clios its 7,800.
Boost FTW, BBbbrrraappp bbbrraappp.
I'd hope 10psi would give me 215-220bhp but im worried about the internals and the clutch. Engines already kicking out 60bhp more than it was designed for lol.
Dont worry about it mate there are pleanty of other mods to do.
In fact I know one guy who had his 182 RR'd and it was down on power. The technician said that the de-cat was not providing enough back pressure. Maybe the de-cat pipe has to be well tested and tried.
Hi,
Been tinkering with my new toy, the turbo valver and i'm pretty satisfied with the way she is running.
Referring to the below RR results, what results could I expect by winding the boost up to 10 PSI? (bearing in mind she's running 9:1:1 compression, with dished standard pistons).
Will I...
I'm with Green light and they will not insure a de-cat as the car is not road legal/worthy and is not capable of passing an MOT.
They will pretty much insure you for anything else except a de-cat.
I guess a cheap option would be to re-new the standard shocks (as they are worn) and go with a set of eibach sporlines as I was very impressed with them on my 172. The certainly improved the handling on my 172 on stock shocks.
Only proper weld in cages that cover the driver are safe.
I've seen pleanty of pics with caved in front roofs, in terms of safety a full roll cage is the only way to go.
Im sure how much protection a half roll cage is going to give, but as mentioned is prob better than nothing.
