It depends what rallying your going to do , no they won't be any good for gravel rallies , I'm only doing tarmac rallies in mine , and most of them will be closed road rallying , so it should be up to the job , if not I could always strengthen in up , if its still not up to the job i'll make an...
I have just ordered one of the Renaultsport sump guard from my local dealer , save me mucking about making one , was told they are in stock and are £78 + vat , and i'll have it tuesday or wednesday
I finally got my race car driving properly today after converting it to RHD , the sadev box is awesome , our trading est is nice and quiet on a saturday afternoon so had a real good play in it :D
HI Mike
I have tried PMing you but you have no room , are you and the car OK after the bump you had on the rally , heard various different stories of what happened.
Cheers Ian
Hi
I am looking for a new engine for my clio cup race car I'm converting to tarmac rallying , I am looking for a genuine 250 hp , what can you offer me.
Or if you can't help , know anyone who can
Cheers Ian
Yes I have been coming to the Jersey rally for the last 7 or 8 years , last competed about 4 years ago in My M3 , but the brand new gearbox jammed in gear on the first stage !
A few of us are coming over to watch , and sample to beer again lol , staying in the Merton
You out watching it ?
talking of what the suspension has to cope with on irish events , this is Chris Meeke iin a super 1600 clio giving it beans !

I'm using the standard pedal set up , but as the donor car I bought runs the fly by wire throttle I was going to fabricate a bracket to fit the cable throttle pedal from the LHD pedal box to the RHD one , but then thought it would be easier to buy one from an early car and get the throttle and...
no i'm still putting it together , spent quite a bit of time on it this week , battling with the pedal box today so didn't get as much as I'd liked done , it should be all finished by next weekend , going to take it up to Mark Fish to have the suspension set up and corner weighted , then I'll...
The photo of the top mount has no caster adjustment from what I can see , only camber , I haven't modified my cup arms at all , the 2 strut to hub fixing bolts , have a 16mm lower one , and the top one is machined down so as to move the hub for camber , there is a lot of movement on it to adjust...
lol , do I sense a hint of sarcasm ??
I have no idea of the insides of my struts so can't comment on there designs , what I was getting at is I am running softer spring rates than a tarmac car with no adjustment , and can adjust them stiffer if I am running on smoother surfaces , the high speed...
The springs will be softer on mine , as I can stiffen up the suspension on the separate cans , they are adjustable for fast and slow bump , and rebound. don't know how the springs are made.
I have retained the race car top mounts and strut brace , and had the struts made to suit.
I am running 15" wheels , and have had the final drive changed so it will go about 120mph , so should fly through the gears.
Reigers are best of the best , and at a very good price for what they are , I needed to fit 3 way stuff to run on Irish events as its so bumpy out there
HI
I was looking to do the Jersey rally , not so sure now they way things are going , it starts 3 weeks today , I would guess I have about 3-4 days left working on it , then get it setup at Mark Fish motorsport , MSA log booked , MOT'd , and then test it to get a feel of the way it drives , to...
HI
I don't know the spring rates , but the numbers on them are 61-270 on the fronts and 30-300 , as mine are 3 way adjustable , and they can be made hard or soft , the springs would be totally different to a non adjustable setup
Cheers Ian
Got the front end back on yesterday , starting to look more like a car now
Started on the front brake kit last night , have the AP 4 pot calipers , Ferodo DS2500 pads , I have machined up some 295mm discs and bells
Here are the alloy billets
Inside half of the bell done
outside...
I paid double that for the loom in my M3 , but that was using Raychem wires , and the pop out aircraft fuses , the loom on this car is a good job.
Was hoping to get it running today but haven't had much time to work on it , I have made up the 295mm discs , will make the bells either tonight or...
this adds 20 hp throughout the rev range lol
Direct from renault motorsports , there isn't a lot I would need to get from them though , only the front hub parts , engine mounts and subframe , could source all other parts for my car from elsewhere , or make it
A local guy to me did it , he...
Got quite a lot done over the last two days , got the engine and box back in , welded up the holes in the LHD pedal box , sprayed it and fitted it back on to seal the hole , made a plate and sprayed it to block up the steering column hole but need to fit that on the inside , go the dash back...
