    Clio 172 Gear Oil

    Dont really matter what the rating is just as long as its good quality. I used fully sythetic 75/80w. Gears feel real smooh now. I must warn you that it is a horrible job! Took me ages as the space you have is very limteted. I'd advise you use a tube or funel to get the oil in the box.

    How best to increase 182 performance??

    The GDI single throttle body conversion would give you 200 bhp. As above your gonna need: Cams Matched inlets Sports cat Cat back zaust Good panel filter OMEX or good remap You should nudge 200 bhp with that. For 200+ you will need extensive head work and flowing with Jenvy throttle bodies.

    Clamps/cat seal ring on 182?

    There is no rubber ring, I dont think a rubber ring would be able to stand the operating temps. On the 182 there is a large metal tapered ring that fits between the mani and the cat. I took mine apart and sealed it with exhaust paste and that seemed to work although it still blew a little bit...

    The are much cheaper options that will cope with road/track and will make it handle as good as a trophy. For instance, eibach proline springs with Koin adjustable dampers.

    LOL @ Replica. If your thinking of doing track days then go for the Cup. If you want something newer go for a 182 with a few extra toys ie: CC and ESP. Or if you want a real RS Clio get a PH1 :rasp:

    Wow you have keen eyes! Ye I fitted leather as the the grey material ones were horrible!. Boobles I suggest you get some xenon head lights from a full fat 172/182 as it will look the nuts with them. It was a mod I always wanted to do!

    Ye Ph1's look dated, they look dated as soon as the ph2 came out. I have owned 3 ph2's RS clios and now a ph1 and the ph2's look better but I much preffer my ph1 for rawness which certainly makes it feel quick/er. Love the fact they are so cheap so I have lots of money spare for modding...

    Eibach Pro Kit Spring Kit for 172mk2

    The ride improves?? obviously never been in a car with Eibachs! Ride is alot harsher but handling improves alot.

    £7k is well too much. I bough a mint 2002 172FF a year and a half a go with 38k on the clock for £5.2k. I'd say if its mint then its worth a max of £5.5k.

    Could exhaust? I thin it will be your boot catch as I had a similar problem with my 182. Try wiggle the boot catch it worked for me!

    Test drove 197 and R27 back to back, was surprised...

    I'd go for the recaro's just for looks alone! You gotta go for the cup pack and recaro's for the resale value if anything. Its kinda cool how you can build your own 197 now. 197 cup without a/c for hardcore 197 cup packs for best of both worlds 197 none cup pack for refinement.
