arguably the garage should have cleaned anything up, but you really should find out if it's actually leaking first. you're going to look a bit foolish if you turn up and it's not leaking.
on mine i removed the alarm cable via the method above and you could see one of the pins on the big white plug was really rusty up. i opened up the alarm (figured it was dead anyway) and there was a lovely black patch on the circuit board. it also smelt a bit.

it is expensive though. £3500 would get you a decent 182, unless of course you're buying on finance than obviously you'll have to pay a small premium. if you are buying on finance or hp, then the credit company has some responsibility here as they "own" the car.
What he said. Reject the car under the sale of goods act. If they get funny do it in writing. tell them you've been advised you can also recover out of pocket expenses ie cost of travel to and from location. If you've got home insurance it might include free legal advice if you've paid for it...
on here. going rate. i bought one off ebay for £160 too. also my clutch was £50 new for a valeo unit, but again off here and it popped up at the right time.
nothing against cliospares, but for breakers in general do consider that they may not have driven the car so they don't know in what...
what he said
when my box went i bought a refurbed unit for £250, labour was £400 and then a bit more on new engine mounts (which you may not need). it will be much less than a grand.
I paid £104 for a pair of rear shocks delivered from Autonation last year. Think there may be a discount code in the members section. Renault were £47+VAT each when i checked last year.
shocks should be kosha, i replaced the rears with brand new ones shortly after i got it a year ago as one of the rears was leaking, and the fronts have been replaced with items from a chap on here that had covered 12k miles/ 1 year old. the subframe mounts/bolts seem fine. the second time the...
i've got some eibach springs in my shed but don't know whether to bother fitting them or not. another half a day spent working on the car, i dunno if lowering it would do me any favours in its current state!

to be honest with the solid ones, i wouldn't mind if it had new genuine mounts instead. comfort v performance i guess, which isn't that great when you have handling probs anyway. keep it oem.
i got my top mounts from pure motorsport, £117 delivered http://www.pure-motorsport.co.uk/details.php?itemid=143
you may be able to test if the insides of your rack are too loose- you can tighten up the gear from underneath with an allen key.
it may be worth checking your rack bushes/clamps...
mine has improved over the course of time i've been replacing stuff, the biggest improvement seemed to come from fitting solid top mounts. you mention you have done the top mount bearings but how about the rubbers? i've replaced arb bushes on mine so don't worry about doing those.
problem is...
twice!
i bought it in october as a an unused rebuild but it went wrong in december so it was rebuilt again in january
i didn't pay for the rebuild so it's not as bad as it sounds, and the second time i installed it with the help of budgie off this forum so it didn't cost much, just a pain in...
I've driven mine before it went wrong :-)
Seemed to appear on the back of a gearbox change, but I'm not 100% on that
