Remove fuel rail from inlet, keep wires and fuel line attached. Let someone start the engine and see if all 4 squirt (Hi Danimal!) the same. Watch your eyes btw.
Subframe is mainly held by 4 big bolts to the chassis legs. Triangular plates are just "braces". Inner bushes are a pig to do. It may help using longer bolts on the "clamps" as the OE ones are quit short which makes assembly even more complicated. Did my bushes when the subframe was off and even...
Rear pads may be a bit tricky as you need a special winding tool on the Minis to get the piston back in the caliper. The piston has 4 "holes" instead of a slot as in the Clios. But you may get away with using pliers.
Could be the VVT solenoid not operating as it should resulting in an incorrect oil flow to the dephaser pulley. Solenoid starts operating at 1800rpm which is the moment when the noise appears imo.
Should be a wire plugged in. Something to do with idle correction when giving load on the steering pump by turning the wheel. Clean it, some WD40 and it should work.
I would check the wiring from the ECU to the VVT solenoid (located left from cylinder 4 spark plug well) and the connector on the solenoid first before changing the actuator itself.
