GSD2s are still in production for certain sizes (particularly if it was an OE tyre for a car), similarly GSD3 are still in production for some sizes even though the new F1 Assymetric superceded it over a year ago.
I wouldn't swap a 1.2 16v for a DCi65 it would feel sluggish and wouldn't gain much apart from increase in mpg (although the 1.2 is pretty good anyway). A DCi80 maybe or a DCi100 if you can find one.
I went to look at some "DCi100"s but all turned out to be DCi80s - not sure why they were...
To me it feels like tyre scrub which if the tracking is out by some way is exaggerated by putting on lock and turning slowly since the wheels can be fighting each other a bit.
AFAIK, there's two warning lights, the engine management light (for when the coil/misfire fail/other engine faults etc) is seperate to the bank of centre warning lights. I'm pretty sure in the handbook that the centre orange light is only oxygen sensor/emissions-related.
IMO having driven both (albeit brefily) the 197 isn't the leap in refinement people have mentioned - it is better though as it's a better driving position, better build (doors shut much nicer etc) and feels more solid. In terms of noise on the road I found both to be fairly similar although I...

Those brands are OE-quality too and might even be what you'd get from Renault anyway.
It's usually the 02/emissions sensor fault, it comes on if it detects a fuel mixture out of range. It must be running in some kind of limp mode (1.2 16v doesn't seem to do this when it comes on and drives as normal). Luckily this does seem to reset itself on ignition off and restart as you've found.
Digging up an old topic, but did this ever got sorted? as mine seem to have the same problem. The wiper spindle on the passenger side has a lot of slack (with the nut tight) so it appears the whole arm is loose and will move 5" on the screen. The driver's wiper arm is solid with no play.
As the car's not that wide to start off with, the V6 is probably no wider than bigger cars out there (the new Mondeo is wider) but I would try to avoid tight parking spaces too if I owned one. I imagine the problem is similar to the VX220; the doors are so thick that you need to open them a lot...
I would normally rely on that as a rough guess (it was saying ok although the dipstick was on MIN). I wanted to check it had clean oil as it was supposed to be services before I collected it.
Thought I'd ask as I can't see a reason why it can't just snake up in between the throttle body/slam panel. It's more that you can't quickly check the oil without risking getting your arm/clothes dirty!
I'd say 197 as they are very nicely styled and look much more purposeful on the road, the new Focus looks too bulky and is not a patch on the old Focus. The old Focus RS looked right but the new ST looks too "bodykitty" IMO.
Focus would be the better motorway car though.
Ice forms most easily on exposed surfaces (you might find ice on top of your bonnet but unlikely under it) so heated washer jets a useful as it's generally always the nozzle that freezes and the lines are fine (that's in normal icey conditions, -10 or colder figures can freeze up evertyhitn...
I think it's the opposite, they are usually rated at 35W or some new ones at 50W, both still less than old halogen bulbs. The ballasts have a very high voltage output to start them up though.
Not normally a fan of silver cars (Phase 2 espeically) but the 197 in that darker shade looks great and is probbaly it's best colour for showing off the shape of the car.
DS3000 are super high friction but the dust is also highly metallic and can damage your wheels and even the paint on the car as it can stick and rust.
Pagids are probably better pads although they are more expensive. I would look at EBC Yellowstuff over Ferodo DS2500.
You will need to undo both sides even if you're only replacing one spring as the anti roll bar will resist any downward movement you put on the trailing arm when trying to remove the spring.
I did two recently on a 1.2 16v (I assume the 172 is the same method), I jacked up the car in the...
DS2500 are awful pads in my experience, "ok" for fast road driving but don't like hard track work and often give vibration due to disc smear when they get too hot. Very very dusty too.
