Yeah I've rubbed them with the scotch pad to make them go matty again so I can re-lacquer. The guy in the paint shop said he thinks it might be because I didn't put it on heavy but when I done it was soaking :S.
I lacquered my side trims yesterday (3 coats of it) and left them to dry overnight. This morning I found them to be nice and glossy but they still felt abit matty. Ive since rubbed them down with a scotchbrite pad. Just wondering would it just need more layers? Or is there another reason why its...
Yeah should only take a few minutes mate, you might need to push them with something like a screwdriver or a chisel to push them left/right so use a cloth to protect from scratching the car lol.
Yeah you could do that. Yeah they come off easy, just slide the front trims to the left and once the clips have clicked you just pull it off. With the rear trims slide them to the right and just pull them off to.
I think there called Dare R9s, there black rimmed with fat silver and black...
Its because theres loads of shades of 632, best bet is to take it to a paint shop that offers colour matching service and they'll match it perfect thats what I did.
Ive had to open all the windows and the back door to vent it out lol. Just added another layer of lacquer on my side trims so...
I think it looks better it all being done personally, well in my case it does seen as I've got black & silver alloys. You can see what it would look like all done if you pull the front trim off mate as the under colour is the same as the car.
You can probably pick up a pair for about £30 then mate.
Ive just finished painting all the front trim, side trims probably lacquer them in an hour or two.
House smells of all the paint now seen as the weathers s**t lol.
You started doing your other bits yet?
Yeah mate I have, you need to get a foglight kit (foglights, fog brackets, wiring loom, fuse, 2 switch fog indicator stalk). Breakers yards can give you everything for around £65, but when I went the guy told me that it might not work even when its all wired up as its an expression. So I didn't...
Probably because there always dirty lol, need to give them a good clean up.
Erm lowering, fogs then probably interior seats, but I always seem to find something else to do to it though lol.
Yeah I went and got the paint mixed at some shop near me as theres different shades of 632, so this place matched it up perfect :).
I'm gonna finish painting the front trim and then I'll post you the pics of the side trims and front.
Did you the the wing mirrors off alright? And are yours...
Yeah yeah :).
Na I didn't go Halfords, went to some shop down Mawney Road, were quite cheap and they matched my paint perfect as theres different shades of 632.
Yeah and we all know bodyshops bump people.
Jordi mines nearly all finished mate so I'll post you pics of the side trims and the front trim, looks good so far :).
