Having knackering a gearbox I have managed to get a replacement which Im gonna be fitting this weekend. Is there anything I should look out for which can potentially cause me problems...???? Should I replace anything else while the box is off?? Cheers C

Same here, accelerations is pretty intermittant/jerky til its warm....

Managed to find a complete box for £250, which has only covered 16k Also another box but the rear casing is knackered (leaking oil) £150 if anyone wants the contact details.... If it only popped out I dont think it would have spewed oil out... besides something went bang..... Cheers for...

To be honest I aint got a clue what state its in, I just heard it collapse, and oil spewed out after loosing drive!!.. Ill let you know mate once ive stripped it down and managed to track down a box.... Prooving pretty tricky tho.... C

All cars have differential!!.. its in the gearbox!!

Just replaced a driveshaft on my 02 172 and last week on my way to work the diff packed in, lost drive completely and dropped oil all over the road.... Car has done 48k.. heard a bit of a wine prior to it failing.... Can anybody recommend a solution, any breakers that might have some or...

Very true!... although we travelled from Leeds so it was pretty disappointing after travelling all that distance. I didnt hang around for the drifting (sideways thingy) did you see that??

Hi :-) It was ok, not as much there as I'd initially thought. Loved the Audi S1 and some of the other Grp B's - AWSOME!!... Also the little clio didn't do too bad against the Turbo's.... What did you think of it?? C

Whats the best way of finding out what it is???.. I recently had to replace a rear wheel bearing so it maybe they are all on there way out.... I can feel the binding through the steering wheel...... Cheers C

What car was it???.... My noises are vibrating noises on acceleration, Ive just ordered one of those bush kits from K-tec so Im hoping that will cure part of it... It just feels like the whole front end of the car wants to detach itself from the rest.....

Yeah that sounds like a similar problem, although mine occurs when Im turning right and the noise seems to be coming from the right hand side of the car.... Cheers for that - I just needed confirmation!! Anyone know where I might be able to get hold of one??

Yeah mine does it too.... I was told by one of the guys from Reno that they offer a template upto the strut and grind part of it off.... Sounds a bit dodgy to me........

I was driving home earlier today and I noticed that everytime I took a right hand corner I could hear a grinding/rubbing noise that was in sync with the wheel rotation, a friend of mine suggested it could be a worn driveshaft... Has anyone ever had similar symptoms??? How would I know...
