Oh, you are speaking about the engine and not the front bumper, sorry....
O.K. that was not that easy, the wiring was not so a big deal but to re-marry my original Imobilizer with the K4M ECU was tricky.
Second thing was the exhaust hose between manifold and cat. In the Clio1 it´s...
I use millers xfs 0W50 in my K4M, works fine, nearly same oil pressure over all revs, equal if the oil is hot or cold.

Better response, because same throttle position opens bigger area (you can calculate ist exactly 55mm to 65mm...) and some powerincrease at high rpm. Costs about €150,- here in Germany
No, not a 172 TB, musst be one of the normal F4R (e.g. F4R-780) with 140hp!
in parallel I increased the fuel pressure to 3.8bars for better instationary behaviour (avoid lean peaks).
If equipped with electric throttle, the K4M and the F4R have the same throttle, equal if it´s the K4M with or without VVT.
I have the K4M-760 with VVT in my MéganeII, I can´t say that this engine is much better than the engine w/o VVT, O.K., the Megane is much heavier.
I had both engine on...
There are basically existing 3 different types of the K4M engine, with mechanical throttle and w/o inlet VVT, with electronic throttle and w/o inlet VVT, with electronic throttle and with VVT (e.g. MeganeII) about +5hp than the others.
sorry
Yes, with tires in 225/50R16V (Conti sportcontact2).
here you´ll find some more: http://home.vrweb.de/~seegi/mein_meggi/neue_bilder/
The Megane is not lowered due to everyday use, but it has the anti-rollbar (+2mm) of the Scenic at front and stiffer MAD springs at rear.
Here some pics of my Mk.1 Ph.3 1,6 16V
This is the family car, a normal Mégane GT 1,6 16V
and this my R18 Variable, which will get the modified engine of a R5 Alpine Turbo and wheels auf the A310 V6...
I´m at the moment quite satisfied with the power.
This year I was on a Renault-Meeting in Austria, where they make a hill-acceleration.
I did it in 6,25 sec, my club-colleague with a valver that´s equipped with a Mégane-Cup engine and about 180hp did it in 5,80 sec, another colleage with...
O.K. maybe there is a different understanding about engine swaps between us.
But if the VAG 1,8 Turbo will fit incl. Gearbox in a Clio Mk.1, why not also the 2l Turbo of the R21 when you use a Safrane-Gearbox and install it transverse??
I don´t like these mixtures! What is the result? A Renault or an Audi? It´s a question of pride driving a Renault! If it must be this engine then I would take a VW Golf Mk.2.....
I had also a 1,2 8V and put a 1,6 16V in, with some mods now 133hp/178Nm.....it´s nicer to drive than a valver, because the K-bloc is not so heavy than the F-block (fewer understeeer) and better torque curve.

So please ask the owner of the cliowelt.de-board by yourself (I don´t know), but I know the owner of the clio-forum.com-board and will ask for a link.

Oliver
I just entered the board two days ago, normally I prefer german boards...;).. e.g. http://www.clio-forum.comhttp://www.clio-forum.com or http://www.cliowelt.dehttp://www.cliowelt.de
So I have to check the new K4M engine of the new Mégane (that is already presentedin France). It has now 115hp and perhaps also a vvt and I might copy it...
The vvt-unit itself is not so expensive about 110,-Euro in Germany.
Thank you for offering me a 2,0l engine, but ist was enough work...
:( this I was already thinking of....but I will check the system of a ordinary 2,0 16V with 138hp from a Laguna, these engine are also equipped with a phaser....
regards
Oliver
Hello Captain!
By the way, do you think there is a chance to apply this system to a K4M-engine (1,6 16V) ? I think to mount the phaser itself is not the problem, but from were get the oil and how bring it to the phaser?
Would be a solution against power loss at low rpm when using very sporty...
Hi Ben,
do it! I did it, too... :-), not the 1,8 16V but the 1,6 16V...
