Hello,
I have a question, perhaps somebody can help me. I´m looking of a photo of ClioII RS Ph.1 Siemens ECU (F4R-730), where you can clearly see the badge with its bar-code and all numbers. Would be great, thanks.
Best regards
Oliver
I think good for Group-F competition with big overlap and high comp. ratio but not for everyday use.
I also have something in mind....;)
By the way, the DBilas are still longer than these....

For that price (DBilas offered me €1350.- inkl. VAT and re-mapping) I can nearly get normal F4R-engine (140hp-version) with under 100.000km, and then I have both, power and torque....
Renaultsport parts are undiscussable.....
So that´s the DBilas intake manifold. I just got an answer on my e-mail from them with this picture:
Hmm.....pretty short and I think it won´t fit in my old Clio engine bay due to bigger hight...
This are the vacuum hoses for different devices, like fuel pressure regulator, MAP-sensor, brake-assist, charcoal-filter...and one is connected to the idle speed regulator I think.
Why the rsi should have? max power and torque are at lower revs, better aero-dynamics, he don´t need that high revolution level....
JB3-048 (16V)
1. 3.09
2. 1.84
3. 1.32
4. 0.97
5. 0.79
gear 4.21
JB3-078 (RSi)
1. 3.09
2. 1.86
3. 1.32
4. 0.97
5. 0.76
gear 4.07
If your valver has a steel oilpan it should fit, if it has a aluminium oilpan it wouldn´t fit easy.
The RSi gear-box has also longer gear ratios than the valver gear-box.
In my opinion the long single hoses of the K4M´s intake manifold are optimized for goog volumetric efficency at low and medium revs but not for +6000. Also the F4R engine of the ClioRS uses a different intake manifold compared to the "civil" F4R versions. But how to shorten them by keeping the...
Normally they have all the M20 thread.
I use the 7700720978 on my 1,6 16V, that has been also used for the R25 V6 Turbo, only double length but the rest fits perfectly an I can put in 0,1l more oil....;)
Hello,
has anybody here made a "before / after" dyno-test with the K&N 57i-Kit for the K4M engine, or even a only "after" diagram?? I´m interested where the biggest improvement would be...
Thanks
Oliver
You have to differ between charging (generate a pressure in the intale manifold that is higher than the ambient pressure) the engine by the ram-air effect and the decrease of pressure losses by the ram-air effect.
Look in that document:
http://home.vrweb.de/~seegi/Pics/staudruck.doc
I calculated the theoretical ram air effect. It´s in german, but with the international abbreviations I used I think it´s understandable.
As you can see, it´s not much....
From filter area point of view I think Ben is right. I wondered allways why the air-box of the R25 V6 (or better known as "cup air-box") with it´s single inlet with 100mm diameter brought that big increase in ph.1 models compared to the original ones with 2x60mm, I think.
(p.s. some edit...
The newer K7M-760 engine in the Megane Mk.2 (113hp) has 40° cam-shaft angle for the phaser (that´s 80° crank-shaft....;) ), but all phases of the RS have 16° as Ben said.
So, I did some silght modifiacations for this year...
- painted the wheels black
- air scoop now really welded in
- ph.2 grill
- mud flaps
- OEM rear silencer
No I don´t, I work in automotive area but not motor-sports or something like this.
Check out this link:

and then stroll through the catalogue....:D
@BenR
I´m looking forward to it!
It has, look at the Clio 1600 for Rallye....
Some years ago I wrote a e-mail to renault sport and I got an answer...
"Oliver,
AS enhenced the Renault K4M engine is, to tune it from 110 HP to 220 HP is a big challenge !!
The FIA regulation on the S1600 categorie concerning the...
As far as I know the compression ratio is higher (due to lower charge pressure) and also the 225T does have no vvt....

Yes that´s correct.
I like your air intake so much that I will copy it. I found some body that sells a used 57i-Kit, hopefully not too expensive, because I need only the tube and mounts....
I think now you can buy a lot of things for your K4M engine to increase the power, e.g. you can choose between 8 sport camshaft profiles from different brands, oversize pistons are availible (+1mm) so that the bore/stroke ratio is quadratic, you have 1640ccm and increased compression ratio and...
