Where is the differnece? It´s the same effect of the different distances on both.....camshaft and crankshaft.....
K4M vs F4R:
I don´t know what will happen, if the cam is not centered on the roller......

The higher ocatane number is the one, but did you compare the net calorific value of both??
ethanol: 7,44 kWh/kg = 5,9 kWh/l (density:789 kg/m³ )
petrol 95: 12,0 kWh/kg = 8,9 kWh/l (density:740 kg/m³ )
That´s only the case with the mecanical ones. I compared the part numbers of all, and that was allways the same (here in germany, so I think it´s the same in GB).
Yes, it´s K4M.....look here my blog:

at the moment I have another exhaust system, but that´s no difference in power...;)

or ask minivalver (I think the link to his blog was already...
The upper (including the plenum) section is polyamide, the lower is also alu, but it´s compared to the rest small.
I agree, you have to test it. I think with minivalver´s manifold it will be really an improvement, it´s totally made of aluminium...
Yes, if you drive high load and have misfire, your ceramic monolith may melt due to the high temperatures that are caused by the exotherm reaction inside the catalyst...result is a much higher back-pressure...
The thread of the "Z" is slightly shorter than of the normal. Here you see the comparison between the PFR9G-9 (that is from the dimensioning totally equal to the BKR6EZ, only that it is a platinum type) and the BKR6E.
the difference is the distance of the gasket ring.
I would...
I did put a F3R engine in my old Super5, the low weight of the car combined with a long gear box gave you a very relaxed drive....:)

but always enough power...
What you see on the picture is only the upper section of the manifold, the entire manifold for the valver looks like this:
The upper double-Y section sticks in the lower Y section, an it will be connected to the cat by a flex-hose that´s directly weldet an no flange, so that the lower Y...
I think the best is, you try to get a system with a sports kat and not the original 182 cat.

What do you think of it? This will become my new exhaust manifold. A Supersprint 4-2-1 manifold originally for the valver, already redesigned...
Regarding the exhaust manifold, I would recommend taking one of a RS182, press the the hoses 4mm tighter together and weld a specific flange-plate to it. I´m not so satisfied with the supersprint 4in1 collector, it´s a good alternative if you had a pre-catalyst like my engine had, but compared...
It´s really a nice flat kurve, but I wonder that its maximum is only 147Nm, when I did caculate correctly (1FtLb=1,355Nm)...
Do you run now also with the 5502704?
I friend was also last week on the dyno with his Megane Mk1 1,6 16V cause he installed the DBilas intake manifold. Gained 7hp...
The exhaust manifold with its integrated catalytic converter is good if you take in account that the engine is able to do EuroV, but that´s all.
When you read the performance data 160Nm at 4,400rpm and 133hp at 6,750rpm you know why.
I also tuned my K4M-720 engine with catcams, F4R-throttle...
Hello,
sorry for my stupid question and maybe it´s explained, but I don´t understand:
What is the reason that you advocate this 0,5mm step down, in my opinion that´s poison for streamline flow...?!?
regards
Oliver
Yes I know, a friend of mine is doing this also with his k4m-engine.
85.80mm stroke is a word, but do you think pistons with nearly 83mm bore is a good idea??? I know the Woessner oversize pistons, the have 80,5mm, this would make nearly 1750cc. And conrods....?
IMO a lot of effort, makes...
