    Slight misfire, no eml...

I swapped them front to back as the front lambda was showing an active fault on the code reader and I figured it wouldn't hurt to switch them. I wonder if the change if there was to be one would be straight away or after a while. The lambda code hasn't come back though since resetting it which...

Thinking about it I don't think it's smoke, more steam so it's normal.

@jamesycc Yeah now you mention it it is a little. Was yours hesitating slightly when driving and changing gear etc? It pulls fine and goes well though.

It's definately hiccuping on idle and you can feel it slightly hesitating when your driving. On the video you can hear it from the exhaust, it's like a spitting noise I'm in Staffordshire.

    Slight misfire, no eml...

Thanks @STEVE.M There are no lights on the dash now at all. Nothing scanning on the code reader either. It's more the running that's not right. It's not so much a misfire but hiccup if that makes sense and you can hear it in the video above.

    Slight misfire, no eml...

I've tried to capture it on video (in the dark, with an ipotato...) Its more audible from the exhaust towards the end but I wasn't going to mess about with trimming. I could just about work out uploading it. Lol @STEVE.M @jamesycc

Well unplugging them one by one changes the engine note every time so I doubt it's that. I'm starting to get annoyed with it now.

    Slight misfire, no eml...

Thanks mate. The spark plugs looked normal comparing them with the YouTube video you've linked @STEVE.M (normal as ngk describe them, no sooting up or burnt marks.) all plugs were the same too. Mpg is around 30 on the obc but actual is about 25, that's driving normally varied speeds and a 9...

Cheers @jamesycc The engine note definately changes when you unplug them one by one though which suggests not. Do you know how to actually remove them?

    Slight misfire, no eml...

Switched the lambdas over today (before I buy/borrow a compression tester) and it's exactly the same. Would the car need time to adjust or realise it's got a better reading from the lambda or would it be instantaneously better? I also had the plugs out, they are the correct ngk plugs and look...

    JDM - Clio 172 Ph1

Very nice, but a shame about the aftermarket gearknob. Lol Does look a very clean example, congrats. I always thought jdm cars were right hand drive, so is it strange that it's lhd?

    Slight misfire, no eml...

It doesn't pop or bang when driving it does idle poorly and there is a smell of petrol present initially after starting. Also it's drinking petrol like an alcoholic!! The reason I was going to swap lambdas around is the code on the code reader showing as sensor 1 fault. I know it's not the...

    Slight misfire, no eml...

Reset the code the other day, have driven about 60 miles over that time, still runs rough, with a petrol smell (running rich I think) poor mpg etc but no code has manifested itself again? I'm going to switch the lambdas around as soon as I get time to see if that cures it. I'm right in thinking...

Failed MOT - replacement parts help

The proper fixing kit has two bolts, two springs and washers and nuts. The spring goes over the bolt to keep tension I guess. If you put a washer on both outer faces of the joint then it should hold better. http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2335 (Although you can get them cheaper...

    loose gearlever

Mine was really loose and when underneath I noticed the selector shaft was about an inch down the rod. I adjusted it back up to the bolt and now it's much better. Might be worth a look?

What have you done to your car today ???

Today I have fixed a leak at both joints of my exhaust, fitted a new dash clock radio display (and then the bulbs after the 'perfect working order' one had both bulbs blown!), new bulb in cigar lighter, swapped my washer pumps around so my screen washers work now, removed the broken and not...

    andy_coops - Iceberg 172

This looks very similar to my last 172, and I miss that car!! Although yours looks so clean and very very nice!! (My old one wasn't that clean and my new shed doesn't and never will!!)

Anyone in or near Bognor able to remove locking wheel nuts?

I paid £30 to a mobile bloke to remove mine on my last one. He was there for hours and didn't charge more. They were genuine Renault ones and broke his special tool so had to resort to welding a bolt onto them in the end. They were only really hard to get off because the tyre place I'd used a...

    My Inferno Story...

I need to get my shed to a similar standard to yours, your car is such an inspiration to me and my Monaco. And the powerflex dog bone mount is definitely on my list, made such a difference to my last 172!!

Right my code reader finally arrived today, plugged it in and it came up with two fault codes. Bearing in mind I have no eml on. P0120 throttle/pedal position sensor switch (Guessing this is from when it was revving itself the other day, I've cleaned that up and touch wood.....) P0130 o2...

I don't know to be honest, they are black ones but say performance leads on them. I'll plug it in to a code reader, see what happens then and if need be I can get leads.

@bloke thanks mate. I've tired a coilpack with the help of @NorthloopCup but it made no difference. Also checked over my leads which although aftermarket appear ok. Today the throttle had a mind of its own, first 4K then 6k revs and after that I have a engine management light on now. I'll get...

Advice needed, Hit by a Stolen car with false plates - No insurance

Wow at least your 'ok'. Could've been a lot worse. As for insurance I'm know some insurers give extra cover against non insured drivers, and as such you don't have to pay excess or anything. What have your insurers said? I would also imagine that the police would back up your side of events as...
