I went the other way! 172 to CTR and if I were you I would keep the CTR not because its better or worse but because they are very similar cars! I would wait for something new to come along...like
Fiesta RS
Ibiza Cupra R

always comes up trumps! :D
Depends what your after really!
I just couldnt bear the thought of problems with my Clio once the warranty ran out (the Clio doesnt come with 3 year manufacturers warranty only the first year) and the rattles were doing my head in!! Hence why I went for the Type R! They are 2 very different...
Well if they arent tight enough the wheel will come off! If you over tighten they may not come off! That all there is too it really!
A torque wrench is handy but you wont affact tracking handling unless the wheel is loose of course!!!
I have gone the other way too! Dont think youll be too disapointed with the 172 to be honest depends what you looking for. Both good in very different ways!
Its each to their own I suppose!
I would never have dreamed of buy a CTR a year ago but the 04 model just appealed to me more than the older one did. Its not perfect a by any means! What you have to remember is that they are different sized cars and you can feel it when you drive the 2! I dont...

I would agree with most of the comments here. The CTR does not feel as quick as the 172/cup simply because its heavier and lacks torque. But this is made up by the close/low ratio gearbox which means that when driven properly I think it would murder my 172.
I did drive a LCR 225 and was only a...
Im in Newcastle matey BUT I dont own a 172 anymore.
And ive just found out the guy who bought my 172 has written it off!!!
I never saw any other ClioSport stickers but I will look out for you, if you see a red CTR gis a wave!!
Nah no regrets. Loved the Clio to bits and I miss the toys but the engine and gearbox on the CTR make up for it. Its nice to have that extra space too, there is loads of room in the back. Its quick too, no little duels yet but waiting patiently!!
Slightly worried about fuel consumption but Im...
