Might point out my wok mate who had a CTR sold it and is now looking at a Clio Williams.
Had a bit of fun now and again with his CTR and it was pretty even I could never have got passed though but he never pulled away!!
Just bought Jeremy Clarksons No Limits and it pretty good.
There was the bit with the 172 (in red, looked very very nice) they had Jonathan Palmer driving round a track with 3 different sets of tyres. The standard one, some remoulds and some performance tyres.
The performance tyres were a...
What is wrong with the one you have on? They look the best of the bunch. Those multi spoke one look like cheap super ts, that big bolt thing in the middle looks hideous!!!
Have you got a pic of your car as it is now to compare?
If the car should come fitter with 50 series tyres then you should put them on! I think you will probably find that the car will handle better with the lower profile tyres and it will look better. You will probably experience a firmer ride but cornering will be improved slightly.
The dealer tried to flog me the same one...they are horrible arent they! Sort of paisly pattern.
I tried to order the executive one but they dont do them anymore and the original 172 mats are £130!!!!
I have been on to JustMatz about the cliosport one and have give Jas the info so watch this...

Nah! I wouldnt have thought that you would get anything just say you had no idea who she was but she was very pretty and you couldnt say no!
It makes more sense the the wider track is created by difference offset wheels.
I dont know what it would involve to make the track wider on the Cup but I would imagine that it would cost a fair bit in development for Renault.
That maths means nothing!! What about wind, drag friction etc. Its no good just simply working the top speed based on mph per 1000 revs etc. The faster you get the more resistance.
There is no way on gods green earth that a VTS or a 172 for that matter will break 140mph its just not possible!!!
Wont......140mph on the speedo maybe!! there are so many factors involved!
What does top speed mean anyway....nothing! Who drives at 140mph anyway? Lets face there are loads of cars out there that will do 140+ but still arent considered that fast in accelletation terms, 30-70 would be a much...
Yes IMO the Toyos are better than the Contis! I have recently had the experience of Contis, Toyos and Eagle F1. The Toyos are better than the Contis in terms of grip but they dont wear as well! The F1s are better than both and they wear slightly better than the Contis.
Bear in mind that the...
Toyos are worse in the wet than the F1s but then the F1 is pretty much the best wet weather tyre!
The Toyos are good considering the price, they are considered by many as a budget tyre though many will disagree based on their above average performance in both wet and dry.
Pirellis are an excellent tyre but they are very soft so they wont wear as well as something like a Michelin Contact Sport which is a very hard wearing tyre!
Depends whether you want to go for out and out grip or out and out durability or a bit if both!!
For grip then you cant fault the...
I know this might seem like a stupid question and the obvious answer is "Of course not you stupid arse!" But this is normally the case because most car dont come supplied with mats from the factory, but the 172 does so therefore it is part of the vehicle!!
I have checked the warranty document...
The Toyos are dirt cheap, mytyres.net are doing them for £41.00 but they wear very quickly due to a soft compound but they are good, had them on my Saxo. You might also look at Falken but I have no experience of them!
If you want a tyre that will last ages then get Michelin they will cost more...
Not getting my back up - sorry if it has come accross that way.
Just your statement that the cup is more rare than the 172.....its bound to be it hasnt been out as long. But if you work it out then the Cup is selling more cars in the first 3 months of launch than the MK2 172 did after its...
I think thats a slightly unfair comparison!!
Since the 172 was available for the whole 12 months so 6000/12 = 500 172s a month which I find very hard to believe!!!!! I very much doubt that 500 172 were sold on average every month!!!
And cup was only available to 3 months at the most so 920 /...
