people seem to forget the list for the 182 was 15.5k and the new ones gonna be better made etc for 500 quid more. not that harder bargain i dont think. discounts will come about.
the early 1.8t in the old shape cupra are s**t. they always go wrong. the mk4 varient are much stronger. if ur gonna tune tho ibiza is cheaper obvisouly being forced induction. its what you prefer.
actually mk4s rattle alot. there crap. I work for vw so i do know. I think renaults less rattly. other than rattles there better build wise yes, especially mk5s, which still rattle. Older cars do sometimes rattle less!
look elsewhere. simple. sounds abused to me. gearbox sounds like its been rammed into gears upon hard acceleration. stay clear. dont make a rush decision.
na not from round here, am about here most weekend tho. im from down in high wycombe lol. i did have a good bit of fun a while back with another phase 2 172 coming on the trowbridge bypass, thought it might have been yourself cos they flashed me aswell! :) nice motor :)
golfs dsg book time 0-60 is 6.8, phase 1 172 is 6.6. only top speed is the gti better. 0-100 the clio is a second quicker (17vs18)
Back on topic, I owned teh 182 with cup packs before a type r, and now a phase 172 for financial reasons, and i would overall say i preffered the 182, but i dont...
i went against a pulsar gti-r with 500bhp at pod last year... that ran a 11 something. i ran a 14.8 on that run. it was stupidly fast. i know it was 500bhp ish by time, and the fact it had a laminated sheet in the window. Another quick one was a Supra - modded clearly, it left me for absoulte...
i dont think it looks that slow. lol @ the 1.2 that can go as fast as that. like f**k. you 1.2 and 1.6 owners r just tryin to big your clios up making them sound faster than what they are.
its off a peugeot website that vid. great. there is squealing from the 206, no roll from the 172 (which they do roll a fair bit)
think its a muppet drive. the pegueot wouldnt ever keep up with two good drivers.
yeah i heard about that minro accident thing on a old report back in the days, when jemery clarkson was on top gear (back in the quentin wilson days lol)
ive owned a 172 182 and ctr and foudn the ctr quicker through and through. not by alot, but defo quicker imo. i do prefer the 182 on corners though, bit easier to drive quickly. i ran 0.4 secs quicker at pod aswell, in simlar conditions :)
