I fitted the Green replacement filter on Saturday as K&N still do not do one for 2001 onwards 172 / Cup.
Has made a difference:-
1) Pulling away feels a little more controlled.
2) Mid range feels like it has a little more torque
3) 5000Rpm + pulls a little better and has more of an angry...

Do you actually get full throttle without it clicking ?
Is this why rolling roads give such varied Bhp readings?

P.S. mine has a plastic disc on the floor, not a switch. The switch is actually part of the throttle assembly.
Mine does it every time I change into 5th unless I hold the clutch down until the revs drop below 2500 then its alright. A little bit dodgy when you are going **mph (quite fast) as it means you are coasting. Reno cant find anything wrong, I even had them check the Gearbox oil level. Done it...
Had reno look at mine for the same thing. They had no idea, so I said could they take out the 2 Cups on the forecourt to see if they did it. They did, so they said it was a normal characteristic of the engine.
They do bite damn hard when you want them to. But I do know what you mean about corners. They reminded me how important it is to brake hard into the corner and lift off to the apex and plant the gas again on exit. Much more fun when you do it properly.
Oh yes, but only for the pleasure of opening such a large gap. He was but a spec in my rearview mirror. He definately went for it at the lights as the missus heard him and said dont let him get past us. What more encouragement did I need ?
0-62 in the Cup (6.5) is alledgedly 0.2 secs quicker, both have a 0-100 of 16.7. Im glad to see in reallity acup can hold a CTR as I have been a passenger in one and they do feel damn quick.
are you changing geer on the gear change light, or before ?
If your gearchage is bringing you in before 5000RPM you will get a delay before you get the full pull again.

What I ment to say is it was "more fun in the wet" as you could play with the back end quite alot. It was always supprising at how quickly it came back under control as soon as you came off the gas, it snapped back in line very quickly and you could...
