I have to put in about 100 mills every 1000 miles that will be just over a litre between 12000 mile services. I ran it in very carefully but do drive it rather hard most of the time. What does everyone else usually use between services ?
remove the steering wheel for a more exciting drive !
no one metioned the reduction of weight and drag by removing the aerial !!
How bout, just enough fuel to get to 60Mph ?
1st: not sure as I just take it to 7k.
2nd: 62 (change gear) have done 65
3rd: 85 - 88
4th: 110
5th:....
obviously the speeds quoted above 70MPH are an estimate as the speed limit in this country dictates.
Dont forget the better handling on the CUP due to wider wheel base, different tracking, uprated front suspension and a tweaked Chassis !!!!!!
0.5 seconds quicker to 60, 3.7 seconds quicker to 100 and a much more enjoyable drive. You can tell the moment the cluch is raised that 89Kgs makes a...
I had a belt squeak and had a new pulley fitted and then it got worse and they replaced the whole pulley/tensioner as it snapped. All ok now (it was only a few weeks old when this happened.
Re Piper Induction kit. Its not an air leak is it ???
I had my 1st oil change at 3k miles and also never thrash it when cold and let it idle for circa 20 seconds before swithing off. Maybe we treat our cars to kind and should just rag it all the time and treat it like sh*te. No one else seems to have reported this problem.
I think I will...
Ive played around with tyre pressures on my cup and foung the following best for road use:
Front:- 35psi / Rear:- 31psi
If you put anymore in the front you will suffer from wheelspin in 1st all the time when you hit 4k rpm.
With the above settings you should be able to have lots of fun...
Anyone else get tappet like noise around 2.2k Rpm ? (thats when it is worst). Around town with walls / hedges etc to bounce the sound back. It just seems a little too much for 7k miles on the clock ! Windows shut and you barely hear a thing. If you rev it at 2.2k Rpm at a stand still wth the...
Ive done 6.5k miles now and mine still crunches going into 5th. Reno say cant find anything wrong and if it is still there at 12,000 (1st service) they will change the gearbox oil to see it that sorts it out. At least they agree it does it though !
Cheers Vivj.
Mines only 6 months old but it is only a slight noise at present so if I take it in, Reno will keep it for 1 day and when I pick it up say "sorry we couldnt find anything but if it gets worse bring it back".
I think I will wait until it can be heard 20 miles away and then they...
I never got a net either. I have use 2 bungee straps fitted diagonally from corner to corner. Works well with small & flat items but likely to crush anything bigger.
Just run it low on fuel and refill with optimax and take it out whenever you can and get it to 7k in 1st, 2nd and 3rd as often as possible. It will never loosen up at the top end / on the cams if it doesnt ever rev in that range. It will be quicker after 1 week of the above.

I used a hairdryer (the wifes) then used IPA to wipe of the little bit of glue that was left behind. IPA (Iso propanol alcohol is the stuff you get in bottles for cleaning tape heads etc.
