just watched the vid mate, damage not as bad as I thought it would be. Can relate to your pain though, I'm the same with the Trophy, it is track after all but I do like it detailed before every track day . I think it will be August as well before I get out next! catch up with you soon and...
Sorry to hear that mate, but it is a track car so it will look good with a few war wounds :-)..... I suppose when you chase the times it happens. Were you running road tyres or semi slicks? Will hopefully catch up with you soon.
Iv
I have the RC6's on and they have never let me down unlike the D2500's. I've got a set of 8's lying we'll so what difference they make soon. Good luck for this afternoon, weather looks great, if not a little too hot for it :-)
Gonna have to do something to keep up with yours mate... it sounded amazing last week, hopefully my one will roar something like that when its done! will enquire with Curtis about the cup/seat next week and let you know what he's saying
Not much of an update today, but just a couple of photos of the bits that will hopefully be fitted this week............... Blue maybe not the best colour to go with the red, but they came at the right price
more parts arrived today,
Timing belt kit, dephaser & water pump, along with cam shaft and crank shaft seals, got a really good deal from Fish Brothers Renault.................... so cams, oil cooler, silicon hoses and a Scott Morgan alloy radiator & fan setup can get fitted next week...
Morgans right, the higher gear and later turn in works all the way round the bottom half, you can carry more speed and the car still feels planted... I'm a little wary of 4th into duffus as well, not one I've tried as I like the control coming in, but will give it a bash again next outing. I...
Hi mate, the brackets were welded back into place and then a plate of similar size welded over the top to strengthen it up.... A little was lost in translation with the welder as I would have liked that plate longer and welded over more of the back box, I'll see how long this lasts but it may...
Ha ha, I love the lift off over steer! But as long as your back on the power its minimal. I think Fraser is up on Friday the 12th mate, I'm struggling for holidays so possibly won't make it, so it will be the next weekend slot for me! Will let you know in advance, will be good to see you I there.
Quite a Few Clio's up at Knockhill last night for the Track Scotland outing, Weather was a massive improvement over Monday but a lot more red flags meant quite a few delays on / off track! Some photos below (not the greatest i'm afraid!)
Either 4th or 3rd into Duffus mate but that's as low...
exhaust back up and fitted............. strengthening plates added as well so we'll see how long this lasts! thought about replacing the exhaust surrounds but a closer look at the drivers side one means that the bumper will need to be changed too........ Christ! must have been a little hot as...
I'm at the mercy of my exhaust being returned return so wont make the Monday coming one with the car, but ill be up to have a look is I can get back from Aberdeen early enough........... will catch up with you then mate
hi mate, cheers for the links. I have the prima race mounts fitted which may be the reason for the failure of the exhaust brackets, it seemed to work ok on the old soft ones...........
photos would be good of your upgrades and I think I shall go for the new genuine rubbers for the rear of the...
Well Mondays out was amazing. Car is transformed with the AST's and bump steer kit, felt solid all day and turned in every so easily, point and shoot!! can turn in a lot later now and does it with no effort what so ever! great modification @NorthloopCup . Yous were right though I need...
Have to agree with Cally, crap day, too busy, too long in between sessions, but at 35 quid ok value. There must have been a few complaints as they were running the same day this Sunday but have moved the SLS to Saturday and are running a full session day on Sunday..... It sounds like it will be...
@bboy
I would with Stuart mate, sessions are fun, but get a little busy for your first outing and the west coast Clio group get very excitable ( but are a good group of guys ).......... I would recommend the open day like the one on Monday coming, or the open night like Stuart did. Monday is...
Yeah it was a tough choice, really thought about the 335 or the 4 series, but as its a daily the 330 is perfect and gives a good bit of practicality as well! Although its the same engine so it may get a little remap to give me the 313 BHP in a little while :tongueclosed:
Totally unrelated post, well still involves a car but just not the Trophy! RS4 went up for sale and surprise surprise 3 days later its gone!! couldn't believe it and to be fair a little heart broken at it going 😂, but it was built for using, something that i didn't have time to do...
So a little more progress on the Clio front............. AST's & bump steer kit are finally fitted :tongueout:............ Haven't used it on track, but the 3 mile trip home was night n day. Hopefully the first outing at Knockhill will flag up a massive difference! sits a little lower than...
- Well that's the last piece of the puzzle arrived!
just need to get my finger out and get everything fitted! - works been over the top and the typically spectacular (not!!) weather has hindered progress at the minute!
suspension install targeted for next week and then a few more track...
