its funny i have a 1.4 16v and i have the same smiliar problem, its started missfiring and chucking loads of smoke out the back, fixed this problem, but when moving the wrigin loom one way it would miss fire, move it back the other, and it would tick over fine... had engine managment light go...
well had coil packed changed, and injector, but the mechanic said i should have a electrcian look at it, because basicly, he would move the wires one way, and it worked fine, moved them another and it would start miss firing again, said it looks like its snaging near the back when it goes over...
just an update on my problem, incase its of any help to any of you, went to see the misses dad (hes a machanic) after a little play around with the plugs and coils etc and using diag machine, we found out it was a problem with the first cylinder, done some more test, and found out the injector...
hey guys wondering if you could shed some light on this subject, the other day my car started vilantly jerking when it was in neutral, and im geting white/bluey smoke coming out my exhaust... thing is, my oil is not creamy? nor am i loosing power.
does anyone have any idea what it is wrong...
hi everyone got a 1.4 16V dynamique, my engine oil needs topping up, just wondering which oil i should get, i think it is 10W40 but just checking before i top up with the wrong stuff :) what would originaly be in there - e.g, from renault ?

think i saw urs, was looking at the chrome indicator bulbs, (172 Cup) if it was, tidy car mate..., it was the black one near the entrance, wasnt there for long.., looked like a sport to me, but could of easily been fooled :)
saw a silver V6 PH1 on st andrews road in avonmouth this morning abot 8:00am if its anyone's on here, didnt catch number plate, was too busy admiring the wide arch kit :)
^ thats all good then, does anyone know where i can find 40mm lowering springs for a 1.4 16V 2002 having a bit of trouble anything decent realy?

so if you went for 40mm lowering springs on standard shocks, you shouldnt have any issues - apart from obv your suspension wearing out alot quicker, but as i mean, in a mot or tyre change etc... the spring being loose due to it not having enough height to stay in position when the wheel is...
hi i was thinking of getting a lowering kit, but later on if i decided to go lower could i get some different lowering springs?
just asking as ive heard the theory if u lower on standard shocks, the problems where the springs could fall out when u jack it up etc... (as the shocks are too high...
