ive had the cpu running though, when i first popped it in it came up 1800 (1.4GHz) anyway, ive emailed the seller and asked him to supply the one he advertised or offer a refund. cheers for the help anyway

motherboard only goes from 100mhz upto 280mhz. i can select anything in there in 1mhz changes. ill try 166 next, what multiplier? also, someone said to try updating the bios. but ill need a floppy xp boot disc with new bios on it :( f**king pissing me off now tbh. its either sort this...

ok the fsb goes from 100mhz upto 280mhz in my bios plus all the multipliers from 1 upto 12.5/13. my motherboard in the book says it supports 200/266 and 333 mhz front side bus. the cpu thats in is Athlon XP 3000+ 2100 MHz 512 KiB 400 MT/s 10.5x 1.65 V 68.3 W May 13, 2003 AXDA3000DKV4E

same thing, 266mhz x 8 monitor goes on standby, no beeps

i tried 200x10.5 the computer turns on, no beeps, no display screen, monitor goes on standby ill try 266x8

missing my point completely. if it was a very fast car (that better?) then it would need the downforce. its a hot hatch clio. hardly needs planting to the roads as it hits the speed of sound.
