Finished off the roof glue today, pain in the arse of a job but looks so much better now it's finished. Brake cleaner is the stuff you want to use for doing this job, I used one rattle can of the stuff. All ready for painting when I decide to do it.

Doubt it. Just buy a new proper mount, what they're like £40 for a new one?!

About 95 quid + vat when I bought them, bloody scandalous. No apparently not. They are a legal requirement at point of manufacture, but not part of the MOT checks.

Try and find some who works at Renault and use there staff discount, I ended getting them for about 35 quid less then retail.

Yeah the 172/182 mounts are different to the lower engine spec models.

How did you get on with the glue? Most definatly get rid of the light unit, I have. Just got the wires running up the a pillar and across the roof to the windowscreen now.

Personally I'd rebuild. That way I'd know it's been done right and your not inheriting a potentially dodgy replacement engine.

I'd ask them to do it, take all of two minutes.

They replace the upper strut to hub bolt out of the two, one on each side. You'll probably need to take it to an alignment place and they can set the required amount camber you ask for.

Personally I'd stick with the Eibach's. When I had the Eibach's on mine, they were brilliant just for the road and the odd b-road blast!
