A few questions:
Check all fuses... okay?
Imobilliser LED Flashing or on solid when turning the engine over?
Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on?
When turning the engine over does it sound normal or does it seem faster and easier?
I suspect the CPS has given up but you...
A phase 2 will have the stepper controlled throttle body and so it doesn't have a dedicated Idle Air Control valve as the throttle plate itself is actuated by the ECM to control idle speed... technically the mechanic guy that looked hte car over was right. Diagnostics are only as good as the...
I loved this game and remember hitting the LAB Servers hard as soon as I got in from work till the early hours of the morning... good times but wouldn't have a missus if I hadn't stopped playing at 1.6
It needs to go on a proper tester as the flashing MIL means its a level-2 fault and so not classed as "Generic" ODBII fault which is why your reader can't tell you what is wrong.
"Random multiple misfires" or "P0300" is normally ignition coil related so possibly the coilpack, ignition leads or...
And, in the real world it adds 5bhp and actually increases fuel consumption. I removed the setup from my 2004 K4M and it now hapily runs a 38-40mpg all day long.
The Laguna II DCi's, especially the F9Q's had a known issue with broken boost pressure sensors and associated wiring breaking at the connectors and we used to cable tie the wiring down to stop it happening.
This is deffo turning in to a job that needs you to see the Live data stream to go...
Its been I while since I've played with an iPhone as I switched to Blackberrys after my 3G died but I thought iTunes and Outlook were all you needed to backup and sync contacts, music and other media types.
Another "Issue" I foresee, without being able to access the ECM Gaz, is you don't know the actual spec of the engine the ECU was driving. Okay, it was most likely an ex-Cup car so fairly standard on the internals and rev limits but without the ability to access the map on it you've no idea how a...
Oh no, its right - Its a mesh type filter that dangles from the pump pick-up but as Fred said above do not touch it as it will break. Besides, its only there to stop big stuff getting sucked up and fuel quality today is so much better than it was in the 80's.
It is possible for a timing belt failure to bruise a bearing causing the crank not to spin as freely as it should but its more often than not, not an issue.
Does the head actaully need replacing, if so why? Normally belt failures result in bent valves only and the seats/guides survive meaning a rebuild cost of around £75-200.
Hang on, let me get this right; they want YOU to supply a working cylinder head and for an extra £1000 they will fit it along with a new timing belt?
FPMSL... I need to start charging more!!!!!
I've never had to replace these after a timing belt failure on an F4R as the collision normally knocks the rockers off the seating so unless they've gotten under a cam lobe and jammed it, its unlikely (though if the cams have jammed it will have spun the pulley on tat cam so it is possible that...
Its an easy enough job and should take you 5-10 mins depending on how handy you are with the spanners, even in the dark. From the upper inlet plenum disconnect the MAP Sensor, Air Temp, Coilpack and Throttle Body multiplugs and then disconnect the plug leads from the coilpack itself. Note, the...
Did you not have to install a firewall Tony? Does it not need to pass scrutineering? I know what you mean though about buying this stuff as my 19's fuel lines cost around £400 to do with all the swivels and unions.
Chrispy - Fuel lines in the cabin is frowned upon because in the event of an...
