all sorted....
for future reference for anyone also doing this...
you need to unplug the connector. then remove the grey bulb holder/connector - it just pops off. then unscrew the tiny torx bit in the middle of the cigeratte lighter. then push up and out as hard as you can and the whole lot...
right, i've got the grey connector/bulb holder section off.
and the lighter now wiggles in the housing. looks like it should come out from the top but it won't budge!
is there any easy way/knack to getting it out?
Any clues on how to do this?
Obviously the you take the plug out from the bottom of the ciggie lighter, but then how do you remove the lighter from the housing?
I need it for sat nav!
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
Fair enough, I'm hoping there's somewhere more straight forward to cable tie it to for now.
How easy did you find it to disconnect the cig lighter from it's surround it sits in?
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
Ah so you've disconnected the glovebox and removed that. Pulled the loose wire to the cig lighter up through the gearbox and is it just hanging there or did you secure it?
Is there a visible route to get the wiring/lighter up there?
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
nice bit of work!
quick question..what have you done with your ciggie lighter connection? just done away with it or relocated it?
i think the hub cap spanners are all the same, it was the locking wheel nut keys that had different versions.
either if someones got a spare one on here, or renault is your best bet.

yeah could you grab a pic of what you mean - particularly the bit about the cig lighter being unplugged?
By doing this can it go back in same with the ODB port?

By doing this can it go back in same with the ODB port? I say this as I want to remove the surround but still have the need for the cig lighter...
