Course I am mate.
I was 99% sure I was going, just on the 1% I was going to be away I wasn't sure.
I had a standby to go in my place anyway ;)
I'm all booked up for a week in Corfu next week now, so I can show you my tan lines ;)
There's a clip on the header tank for the coolant that the cable sits in mate. You can use that to position the cable. You'll see what I mean when you look.
Rhys is rather correct, I had the exact same symptoms. Likely someone has fitted 10mm balljoints as they are listed as a part (but are 2mm too small)
You can stop the knock for a day or three just by getting under it and doing up the bolts that connect it to the wishbone tighter, they will have...
I wish I had the energy to project mine properly like this, I've done a fair whack to it now, but I'm just too busy getting stuck in to grab my camera and make it dirty :o
Awesome progress, I love how you've actually started from nothing with this, and the fact you're bothering to photo and write about everything.
Makes for great reading and probably (imo) the most interesting project on here.
Keep it up :)
The headlights just take a very fine paper, maybe a few grades if they're bad, say 1200, 1500, 2000... then a polish up with a half decent polish.
I made mine look half decent with scratch x and a drill bit attachment, then some SRP.
It was a rather large turn out for a small meet. Good stuff.
Nice to see a half decent following in the South East, and based upon that I'll be organising something for shortly after CSS :)
My favourite bit is the bug that crawls into the boot at 18 seconds, awesome.
Two things before you make another, refurb the wheels and sort the headlights.
If it's going to be standard, it needs to be mint.
P.s - nice first attempt :)
I've been putting off purchasing one incase I was on holiday, looks like I'm safe so I'll buy one later when I can be bothered to walk up stairs and get my wallet :)
The clutch being low is fine, infact it's a pretty rare quality in a clio. If anything, disconnect the clutch cable at the selector on the GB, pump the cutch pedal (this resets the ratchet mech in the pedal) then re-attach.
The gearstick can be moved about by undoing the 13mm bolt and moving...
Are the balljoints 10 or 12mm bolts and holes??
For some reason they offer two options on the 172, the 10mm will knock their tits off due to being to small for the holes, the 12's will be just fine.
Easy thing to check, get it done.
