Went with Tr.ix because CarPro didn't have any Tar X in stock, and I didn't want to get Tardis in a separate order from elsewhere.
Hopefully these products will give me a good introduction I can build on as I get more involved in detailing.
While blending paint is true, if the door is from a similarly aged car as yours, it may be a better match than could be done with paint - I've seen people on here before try to get parts from a different car of a similar age to their own to try and get an exact paint match - plus I'd have...
Anyone recommend a good grease to apply to door hinges etc after cleaning them? Just something that does the job but doesn't create too much mess/leave noticeable residue behind.
For me, it's all about symmetry and consistency - I think it looks odd when you look at the car side on and the rear windows are dark black, and the fronts are transparent, if I was gonna have tints then they'd have to match all round, and given the laws on them in this country, there's no point...
I only suggested using EGP as I already have some, so in this instance price isn't an issue, when it runs out I'm more than happy to move to something more modern which gives better value.
Right, bit of a muddle, trying to get everything in to get a good detail done without breaking the bank - currently have a range of AG products; Shampoo, SRP, EGP, Engine & Machine Cleaner and Bumper and Trim Gel. These are the products I used to use on my 1.2. I also picked up some Demon Shine...
Yeah, but then you've gotta run the sort of performance car 8 grand can get you, whereas comparatively a Clio is still gonna be cheap to run/repair. Why not have a fast Clio that's cheap to run, rather than having a Scooby/Evo/M3/Boxster S that will cost you a lot should anything go wrong and...
I kinda like it. Looks like a modernised Supra, the wheels would have to go, and it would look much better in white - but if those criteria were met, it'd be a cool car I reckon - the seats and center console are awesome.
Difficult, 197 is a better car to be inside, and the Recaro's are quality, along with it being in one of the two best colours (in my opinion) LY and White.
As for the gearbox, they improved on later models as far as I'm aware, like past 08.
182 with itbs is gonna be a hella lot more fun...
I know they do come up, but it's maybe a pair every couple of months, and you have to be in there proper quick - if they didn't cost the earth new then I would've considered just taking the plunge for the bit extra, but now it appears they do cost the earth.
Was hoping to buy OEM Recaro's for the LY in the near future; and because they rarely come up for sale second-hand, thought I'd see what they're like new, as I'd seen people say about ~£1200 from Capital, which isn't ideal but wouldn't be the end of the world either.
I got in touch with...
Do Capital still sell 182 Recaro's? There was nothing on their site, do they need to be contacted for availability? I'll be looking to get some when the time comes around, would rather get some in decent condition second hand, but they seem to come up very rarely, so would consider just biting...
