182 vs RX8 (Not a dick head thread)

Not necessarily, especially on track. And then there's the Americans, they can f**k up anything.

182 vs RX8 (Not a dick head thread)

It doesn't matter what 'evidence' you find on YouTube, when it comes to track/drag racing it comes down to driver abilities.

    leeRS Clio Sport 172 ph2

I wouldn't worry about a cage personally as the Clio isn't exactly a death trap, just bear it in mind when you're on the circuit. Make sure your car has good brakes and tyres, that's the main thing! I'd also recommend Bedford for your first trackday as there's plenty of room for you to find your...

I'll reserve my judgement until I see a finished one in the flesh, but it would seem they'll be very Marmite.

The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread

You mean the single-track road about 6 miles long? Yeah it was a nightmare... Not flooded, just a pain in the arse every time I met something coming the other way. Worth it though, it really is impressive!

    06-07 reg 197 gearbox issues?

I had a brand new 197 in 2007 and by 35k miles the gearbox was terrible.

Look fine to me mate... At this point in your life it's important to enjoy your car without spending all your money on it, so that you've got that bit extra cash when you do have something you really want

    My 5th RS Clio! A Nimbus 200

High-5 on the Commodore Amiga! All grown-up eh now, Lee! Looks very nice :) How do you compare it to the Clio? I hope they looked after you at Benhams, a few of my mates work there so I might've been able to sort you a deal... If you need to go back for anything let me know :)

    Swapping 1.2 16v for a 172? Running costs difference?

I think as far as cars go, I'd say the 172 is the easiest top-spec car you could upgrade to from the bottom spec one. The 172 really isn't expensive to run.

    Déjà-blue - The tale of R27 #375

I've yet to track the Meg, but if I do feel it needs a diff I'll probably get one retrofitted... Which will still work out cheaper than buying an R26! I never found the 197 needed a diff when used to track mine... Maybe it's a difference in driving styles!

    Déjà-blue - The tale of R27 #375

I've opted for the 225 Trophy on the basis that it's as close as I can get to an R26 whilst only having to spend half as much. No diff of course, but I can't say I've needed it yet... Despite my frantic drive through Wales the other day...
