Any1 know where I can get a full decal kit to turn a Clio into a chavy rally car?
I saw one somewhere on the net months ago, but now can't find the mofo.
Thanks.
Hi,
Opportunity to get a nice set of wheels at a good price. I know 16" is okay in theory, 4x100 is correct, ET37 is -5 from perfect, but would the rimwidth of 7.5 be a problem without having to cut things out? What is the rimwidth anyway?
Thanks
Gabe
Wolfrace seem to be offering a LOT of black alloys on their website / eBay at the moment, but they still seem relatively rare on mod sites, Google images, and on the road.
Which type of car do they suit best? I have a racing green mk1 Clio - would they look naff - its hard to picture, and the...
Hi guys,
I have a mk1 Clio which I love driving, but am fairly new to modding.
I like the idea of adding a body kit to give her a facelift, but notice there's a lot of people here who prefer to lower their suspension.
What are the advantages / disadvantages of both mods? Please try to be...
I forgot to put one of the sparkplug caps back on before closing the bonnet. Could tell something was wrong but put it down to a new air filter.
There was a bit of a smell from the engine, but the car drove alright afterwards. Am I likely to have done any damage? :o
Put a K&N air filter in this morning (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?p=3105418&posted=1#post3105418) so took the opportunity to take a few pics. Can't find anything that looks like the pictures of resontor boxes I've found on Google, but don't know what I'm looking for on my car...
Fitted these the other day and they look great. Bought them at http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/ and got a £10 set of Philips sidelights for free!
Can't understand why Philips don't list the Mk1 as a compatible car on their website. Hopefully the lamp molding doesn't melt after a few weeks!
Thats very good news thanks. Its been a great little car for the 6 months I've owned it so far. Not a single problem and responds well to cheapish mods. 1996 mk1 Clio 1.2L. Paid a little under a grand which was perhaps on the high side, but its been worth it.
Can't for the life of me find the...
Lots of questions, sorry! When I bought the car 6 months ago, I noticed a hole in one of the vents (see pic). Because of the position and the tidyness of the hole, I always assumed it had been deliberately drilled for a good reason. But maybe its affecting performance negatively instead?
This is one of those round (oval actually) ones. This is what I took out. I've never changed an air filter before, don't know the service history of the vehicle. Does this look as though it was ready for a change or could it have gone on for longer?
I was expecting the K&N to let more air through and thus make the mix cooler, car run more smoothly etc.
In reality the opposite seems to be the effect. I noticeably have to put the peddle down a little more to get the same power! :S Has anyone ever heard of this?! There is also now a 'dead...
Just replaced my air filter for a nice K&N one only to find a very small amount of oil in the metal chamber below. Is a tiny amount of oil like this normal or does it suggest gasket on the way out? Thanks. :approve:
Its only a 1996 1.2L mk1! But theres no point wasting £20 on a cheap jack only to have to get another decent one when I buy my future cars.
I'll be buying 4x nice 500mm axles too!
Well, as its clear nobody knows, I just called Sealey to ask them.
It turns out that the 'maximum chassis height' doesn't refer to the car chassis at all. It means the maximum height of the chassis of the jack when it is lowest.
On some models, the body of the jack gets higher in the middle...
That's saddle height, surely?
Thanks, but I'm after a 3 tonne incase I also need to lift a van.
Does anyone know the answer to my questions re. 'maximum chassis height' please? Thanks!
I was thinking to go for this one (3 tonne) because I won't always have a Clio, and might want to lift heavier cars or vans in years to come.

Hi,
I'm looking for a trolley jack so that I can get under my car to bleed cooling system etc. The one I like says minimum saddle height, 145mm, maximum saddle height, 504mm. 50cm seems like a reasonable amount of space to work under, but then I noticed it also says 'maximum chassis height'...
