Very interested in these for my Mk1, phase2 Clio.
But different websites say different things!
Venom Motorsport say:
Front axle adjustable within TUV guidelines only. No extreme lowering. 15/45mm
Renault Clio B/C 57

I've been quoted £25 to weld a gas strut back onto the boot of my Clio, but can pick up a arc welder for £90 that could own for life.
Is it possible to teach yourself to weld? Presumedly the professionals would say no, and one recognises the inherent dangers, but anyone had any joy?
I picked up a pair of Cobras for just £161 on eBay, yey! But the Clio mk1 subframes are £65 each and I'm only keeping the mk1 for a year or 2 until it dies.
Could I use the 'budget universal subframes'?
How easy are they to fit? (don't mind spending a few hours but not very good at...
Yeah, deviating slightly from the original ICE related question (which has been answered)! But its all about sound. What I'm asking is if I can get a significantly more sporty sound under my stripped rear by fitting a performance exhaust.
Yeah, the road & exhaust sound is definately more noticeable without the rear fittings, but this is part of the drive. I don't mind it competing with the music. Will it sound significantly sportier with a performance exhaust or is it impossible to get this on a 1.2?
I'm not so worried about the weight. I just wondered if it might look more sporty / rally with the front stripped too. But I didn't want to strip to find ugly surprises / areas that haven't been painted / mats & braking foot sliding all over the place.
To update, I've just bought a pair of Cobra Monaco S. I don't need the seats to tilt / move in any way as the rear is stripped. Cobra want £130 for a pair of all singing and dancing subframes. Is there a cheaper way of doing this?
A month on, here are my conclusions.
Disadvantages:
There is no noticeable increase in power.
There is a definate dead spot, particularly in 1st and 2nd gears. Feels like the engine needs retuning, especially when cold.
There is probably a lot more dirt getting into the engine (based on...
Lol. I've got an 11 year old 1.2L, (only model I can afford to insure with zero no claims bonus). I just want to look as though I'm looking at rallying. And yes I do have modding insurance - surprisingly it was less than £100 more than standard, and I can do practically what I want with the car...
If I've stripped the rear and put in a rollcage, where / how should I install a powerful speaker system?
I won't accept the 'one or the other' argument. I want rally looks and a Ministry of Sound system!
Oh and its gotta be reasonably stealth! That is, not look like more than £100 speakers...
