Could we have some more pics with black badges please.
Do you think you could do good looking black (or other colour) badges by painting the originals with hammerite smooth?!
I don't think yours will fit because it comes from a 16v.

I realise this is a different model, but notice that there is a seperate listing...

Says they came off a 1.8 rsi.
Having said all that, I'm sorry but I would still be very nervous about taking a 400bhp (TT) lightweight car around corners at high speed with stock £20 a pair drum brakes on the back. Common sense says it will all end up a bit James Dean.
I can't help but notice all the impressive youtube...
Brilliant, so happy!! Just Urban Dictionary'd 'sleeper'. This is exactly what I've been trying to do, didn't realise there was name for it! Adore the classic look of my mk1, but it would be superb with a 172 engine. A cheap but chic modern classic with careful exterior modding, but will fly from...
Seems pretty nippy! If he'd gone to all that effort, why on earth did he start off with one of the lesser models with drums I wonder? (if this is indeed true).
Interesting, thats the 2nd time I've heard of a Clio TT this week. There's not much Google info on it, apart from lots of impressive (and some less impressive) youtube vids.
So its a Clio (mk1?) with an Audi TT engine. This is a custom, handbuilt mod so there is a just a handful of them out there?
If running fast track, with performance discs, and a high powered engine, surely the rears would heat, fade, and then cause probs like the rear spinning out?!
Re: Is it okay to paint rear drums?
Hammerite it is then!
Is painting the drums to match the body colour okay or a no-no?
I realise that it would draw attention to the fact its a drum, but I think it draws even more attention if the rear is painted black while the front caliper is colour.
Is it okay to paint rear drums?
I want black paint to:
protect against rust
make the drums look better behind alloys
Does it need to be VHT paint or can a quality rust prevention paint be used?
Re: Are all rear drums for the Clio suitable for all Clios?
Would I be able to check them myself (no experience, but a few hours spare)?
Also found these. Can you confirm that these would be the correct replacement if needed. Are these Lucas ones better than the first Guttmann ones...
Re: Are all rear drums for the Clio suitable for all Clios?
Thanks, so would this be the part I need?

Sorry for the dumb questions but
a) Does -98 mean all Clios 1998 and lower?
b) would this be for one or a pair do you think?
Are all rear drums for the Clio suitable for all Clios?
or are there different types to look out for.
Need a pair for a mk1.2. Can you still get them new and from where please.
Thanks, but I don'treally need your 'bit of advice'. Neither did I ask whether the part would be suitable for my car. FYI I'm grateful to the guys who have been informative. Stick to the actual questions and you won't go far wrong.
Are you volunteering for the job? :rasp:
f0xy, if I do it wrong, I'll have to pay another £50 for the test. Can I tell for sure I've adjusted properly, or will I need to get an MOT pretest?
Another part of my MOT fail. What's it all about?
I have a switch that is supposed to move the lamp up and down, but tester said that highest setting wasn't high enough. Thought that was what full beam was for ffs.
Does this have to be a garage job?
First part of my MOT fail.
I think it means the b*stard light doesn't turn on in the dashboard. Sounds lke a real p.i.t.a. for an indication I'll probably never even look at.
Will the dash need to come off or could it be as simple as a fuse or something?
The offside rear fog lamp also...
