soon to turn 30 and have a few clio's. been to other makes and models but keep comin back!! at minute own a 172 rep (1.2 16v) to go to and from work, a BG 182 FF, williams 2, valver and MK1 1.2 8v. i really should start to sell some of these, my driveway looks like a renault heritage site...
ok, just getting back with a bit of info, mite be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. im not on for naming and shaming the guy who fitted the belts as some people decide to go on the witch hunt when they get that info. but i decided to get my hands dirty today and got lend of the equipment...
lol!! the way things are over here theyd think you were here to bomb the place, they see someone walking about with a box of tools or with wires and a pair of pliers theyd have a bomb scare for two days.
i think im gona get a few more checks done on the car, cam timing, compression, lambda...
its a bit of a bugger over here in northern ireland because everyone fills you full of confidence with the fact that they are supposed to know what they are doing with 182's. I have saw on here so many times about issues with the timing on these cars. makes me wish i lived across the water where...
there has been a slight ticking noise coming from the car since the timing belt was done, sounds like tappets but i know these dont give problems. the pulley was not changed as was told this was ok, from reading other posts on the forum i understand that if there is play in the pulley that the...
sorry,
forgot to say the only issue is the lamda sensor heater circuit is not working, possible broken wire therefore the sensor has gone also, causing it to over fuel. could this alone cause such a drop in power??
rolling road is spot on, been calibrated very recently, timing also spot on, proper renault tools used and has been checked. Power graph was very smooth, dont have a copy tho! guy reckoned it was overfueling but could that really make such a difference? compression also spot on!!
had my 182 on the rollers last night and was a bit shocked, only made 141bhp at the flywheel, i know there is a problem with the lambda sensor but surely this cudnt reduce power that much?? car is standard only itg panel filter. any ideas??
im in the same sorta dilema, just bought a williams 2 with the idea of braking it to make some cash as i'll be outa work soon, problem is when i got it home and had a deeper look at it all the problems are cosmetic, tiny bit of rust in arches and general scratches to paintwork, steering wheel...
clio looks not bad, i would personally remove the spoiler, possibly replace with a 172 equivalent, could get one from a scrappy for £15 - same as dynamique (clear brake light), change the front splitter to megane mk1 or fabia and get a set of 172 alloys in anthracite, job done and not a lot of...
ive had clio's for 10 years now, ive took these notions and bought other cars, had JDM cars and german cars as i thought i had 'grown out' of clio's but each time i find myself wanting another. they are so much fun to drive and all the other cars bored me to tears and each of them was at least...
Looks very nice, i love the 197's, am looking at an f1 near me at the moment but the dealer is looking way too much!! i'd do the wheels gloss black n leave it at that!! looks sweet to me!!
was talking to my mate again there, still avin the same problem, he says this is the fourth shaft he's had in 2 weeks and none seem to be right, he said that he can feel a knock coming up through the floor when he turns left? thinks he's gona have to bite the bullet n go for a genuine shaft...
the new shaft is the same as the old one, the motorfactors where he got it told him it was the same as a mk1 megane, which sound ed strange to me, his shaft has no carrier bearing, which i found strange too. I thought the fact he had no carrier bearing could be causing the vibration in a...
hi, a mate of mine has a 172 cup, he got a new off side drive shaft, when fitted it is ok when turning right, when he turns left it seem to want to come away from the gearbox and judders. it also has a slight vibration when driving in a straight line.
Should there be a roll pin near the gear...
ring round your local scrappy, the same fog lights are used in all the mk2 phase 2 models so one from a 1.2 dynamique would be the same for example. should get it for £10 - £15. hope this helps.
^^LOL!! my mates used to refer to one of my old ones as this!! mine now gets refered to as 'that tempramental b*****d'. Then it all works perfect and its all good again!!
