Hi,
Under hard acceleration my 182 makes a hard knocking sound, ive tightened everything and it seems ok, replaced ball joints and steering arms and rod ends. wishbone bushings seem fine but still no joy?
was thinking maybe strut top mounts or upper gearbox mount but havnt went that far...
absolutely stunning!!! one of the very best clio's ive saw ever!! superb attention to detail and a credit to your hard work!! if my clio turns out half as good ill be chuffed!!
Yea, mostly for short journeys, only 1 or 2 mile trips. when i think about it that makes sense!! LOL!! i'll have to take it out for longer runs sometimes.
just thot i'd add something here, i notice that my exhaust holds a lot of moisture, if i shake the rear silencers i can hear water inside. When i floor it i notice that theres a lot of steam and water come out the exhaust, so much so that water gathers on the rear window and people behind me get...
Totally agree here!! White is the way forward, im planning on painting my 182 white, there arent any white ones in northern ireland and i think there should be!! lol!!! White all the way!! Cant wait til see this finished!!! Lookin well!!!
Hi, im looking at buying a set of coilovers and saw in pfc magazine that k-tec have a new set of coilovers available with built in camber adjustment. has anyone bought them or had any experiences with them.
was just driving home last night and the ESP/traction control light come on. Tried the switch but nothing changed, still on. if i stop the car and start it again the light goes out but after 20 or 30 mtrs it comes back on, doesnt affect driving so not that bothered but it's just nigglin at me...
now that sounds more like it!! for that money im sure it wouldnt cost a lot to get it painted if i had it all preped and ready to go!! cant wait to see it when its finished.
very true!! white is the IN thing!! maybe something like alien green would be more unique but its a personal choice. i dont know if i could live with the green every day. imo!!
i am planning to prep it for tracks in a couple of years so if it is already white all i have to is the prep work...
This really works for me!! white clio's are mint. I would like the wheels the anthracite colour tho! imo.
This really makes me wana get the car stripped out ready for paint!!:D
I was expecting to hear this, i know its low mileage but the way i look at it is that i know what ive got with this car, if i sold it to buy one with more miles to paint white i could end up with a real lemon, this way i know ive got a good car and can have it the way i want.
ive got a mate...
im not really considering resale because im planning to strip it out, cage, n the full works in a couple of years.
i get bored very easy and white to me sounds good because its different.
i only live 500 mtrs from work, so walk there, just use it to go to the gf house n bak, approx 8 miles...
Hi,
ive been playing about with the idea of a colour change for my 182, it is a road car, used every day, but is a low miler only 12K. Ive saw a few cars on here painted white, but generally these are all for track use or competition use, i would like to at some stage prepare mine for track...
im in the same trouble at the minute, they do fit but cant guarantee that they will work ok, i got a new shaft and it had a rear one fitted, abs then started juddering at low speeds. the width of the rings are different and the sensor cant pick up a true signal from the ring. they can be got but...
looking well, i love mk1's, ive got a couple at the minute, one im working on, euro stance and lairy paint job!! williams wheels and lowered and your onto a winner m8. Keep up the good work.
Oh, the water may have coroded the circuit board on the sensor for the central locking, if you take it...
Lovin this project, im planning to build my road car to full track spec n ive got loads of ideas from this thread. White looks amazing, such a pity they never made 1! but hey if you cant buy it then lets go build it!!:D
lovin this clio! Black 16v's are always very nice! a bit of bad luck with the car mate but im sure once you get the engine sorted it'll be back better than ever! gona keep an eye on this!! looks good!!
i'm in the same trouble, i cant get the part number either. renault say they dont list it. i think its the same as something else, maybe a megane but the breakers beside me arent very helpfull, say i have to buy a shaft, they had a broken shaft and wer wanting the same price as an ok one!! yes...
im having trouble with my abs ring, got a new shaft and think the ring on the new shaft is causing a judder through the pedal at low speeds, is there any other ring from a megane or something that would fit cos i cant get this new from renault as it has 44 teeth and they only supply a new 26...
Hi, on my way home last nite and the exhaust gases emissions light came on, car still runs ok. Any one ideas what this is, im thinking either its one of the two sensors or the cat?? I will say the car was a little bit sluggish when cold the past few days but now the light has come on it doesnt...
the no 6th gear is a curse for motorways! i find the 182 cup a bit firm for motorways but the motorways here arent too good!!;) generally very comfortable but def go for cruise control, that way you can sit back n lazily make your way to work!! lol!!
love this write up, i have a black gold cup and i think there is always something special about a limited edition model! this one is truly special. Great looking car, and hope u keep enjoying it and keeping it a mint as ever!!
There is a ring reciever at the ignition barrel, my dad's kangoo neede this replaced and a key at seperate times, both causing the same problems, the engine would turn over but wouldnt fire up. My mates megane done something similar, would turn over, but when u turned the key the imobiliser...
I had same sorta problem, going ok for a few months then one day blew a fuse. swapped the bulbs n starter over and tested the powers coming to the ballast. identified the ballast as the problem and got a brand new 1, genuine hella part for £62. from some company in czech or somewhere!! LOL...
could be an imobiliser problem. My '98 had same problem, turned over but wouldnt start up. could also be a key problem? How does the red imobiliser light in the middle of the dash look when you try to start it, does it stay on constant or flash very fast? this can tell you the problem!!
