The pic below from earlier in the thread reminded me of my temp guage before I fitted a new thermostat. On the motorway it should sit a bar higher than this, mine now gets up to temp very quick and stays there. Even in -4 last week.
Having said that, if a slightly leaky thermostat makes much...
This last bit made me think it could be that the top mount bearing(s) are shot. But if you're loosing power then it may be something else entirely. It does sound like there could be a fault with the power steering but without knowing more it's hard to say.
Don't take this the wrong way...
From experience one full turn on the rod will translate to approximately 4 mm of toe change per wheel (16's). In degrees that would be just over half (= 30 minutes). So don't do a turn on each side and expect it to drive well!
If its just a quick fiddle to see if you like toe-in or toe-out, I...
Front scuttle panel drain is blocked... probably. Can get to it but you need to remove the wipers and the the plastic cover, in the centre there is a little hole/tube where all the water running off the widscreen drains to. When its blocked with crud the water fills this area like a little bath...
No-one in particular, I like to use the search function and it seemed to be the case! (Just editted the above to reflect the fact that I must have previously told myself that ha ha!)
...fit over the brakes of 172/182's - just in case anyone is interested? (believed I needed valver or williams spare, that "other 15's" wouldn't fit, but not the case)
Just tried it and they fit fine, the offset is ET43 and centre correctly, taper bolts etc. They are only 6 inches wide but I'm...
I'm keen on getting some, can you be a bit more specific on what I should be looking for? I was worried the width of the wheel would mean the brakes would foul the wheel? - if not the case the I will buy a pair ASAP
Looks fine. They have got things very equal from left to right as chip said. It should give you peace of mind that the rear looks very good, the front castor is good too - middle of renault tolerances (and better than lots of others it seems to me!)
I'ts not an excessive amount of toe out in my...
Yeah, I wasn't being very sociable as I had a lot of family there for most of the day, but I was out on track quite a bit...

^taken by a friend of mine, you will find some of you in his stream.
If its free then you might be able to persuade them to let you try few different settings.
for me (and as a daily driver for my wife) and occasional trackdays I have 1.5 degrees negative camber and a few mins toe-in. Toe-out is fine, feels a little dartier in direction changes, but I prefer...
When people say standards are rubbish they all seem to be comparing knackered brakes to new brakes. Standards are fine, even the cheapies from a motor factors. If its a nice bite and sharp, consistent feel you want then just buy ferrodo, pagid or Brembo O/E's
Clearly they wont do trackdays but...
Had mine up on the ramps recently and when replacing a balljoint I paid particular attention to this
my 182 WITH CUP PACKS wishbones have the outer hole clearly off-set toward the front (unlike the pics above which look "normal"). So, 182 cup pack is just like the 172 cup ones, as shown in the...
Looks complete nonsense to me. I'm no expert but lets get one thing straight - the torque curve they are showing is, as you say "all over the place"
can't believe that graph IMO - probably has no bearing on your cars health, which sounds great from what you have said.
yep, quite common.
I've replaced gasket kits (down pipe to cat) and tried different clamps (on the cat to system joint) and whilst it still it isn't perfect I have managed to align everything (without resorting to sealants) to get it so that it is nearly right for the last 6 months... i.e...
probably too late now...
There is a common solution (may be useful for others anyway) that may or may not be your problem. When the pump is spinning but ther'es no pressure its usually because the rubber piece that makes up part of the valve has expanded and no longer "throws" when...
My opinion would be to just do the balljoints (lemforder from ecp is what I used) if the bushes are still taught - my bushes are still suprisingly good after 82k miles but balljoints wear out much sooner.
I would only replace bushes if there is clearly some play. I'm not keen on aftermarket...
Being pedantic here... track width isn't measured from the outside of each wheel, its the distance between the centreline's of each wheel. So the difference will just be the offset, no matter what width the wheel.
But I do see what you mean, if your trying to get work out how it will look in...
The tab needs to be put on so it bends away from the damper but pointing toward the damper (rather than toward the wheel) to gain negative camber.
Not fully understanding your question about the sleeve/glove, sorry.
Some pads (I believe DS2500's included, but possibly wrong on that) can need filing down to fit right, or alternatively run without the caliper shims. If your mechanic just fitted them then they could be binding once hot. It's another suggestion and could easily cause the judder.
As others have...
But none of the above would indicate that tracking is out or not.
You say in your firstpost that the tracking was out as it wore the inside of the old tyres, so has the tracking been checked and front toe set correct?
