I've run EBC greens on OE discs with good results but the EBC discs were c**p.

Kinda harsh but agree to a certain extent Penalties for neglegence whilst driving should be more severe. I still see s**t loads of people using mobile phones and doing their make up whist driving and this sort of s**t causes big accidents.

Like carbon bonnets for the weight saving issues but not keen on the 'maxxed' look of them.

Driven a Cooper....interior isn't much better than the Clio..you can feel the weight of the car and the ride is crashy. Still fun though.

Think your best bet is to go for the complete 1.6....can't be that much more on insurance.

Agree with you I could have brought a CTR or a Cupra but am happy I chose to the buy the 172. I come from a much more powerful, quicker car and am no illusion that's it classy or refined....it's fun, capable and cheap to run. I do think the new car has some nice features but at the price...

Probably because the turbos need for air exceeds what the OE airbox can deliver. Still see a lot of evos running closed air intake boxes...like the std airbox but with the cone inside so you get the best of both. Very expensive though..think they cost around the £500 mark. Have to agree with...

Read a lot of blurb on sites about this elbow de-restricting airflow but I think that's just B.S It'll look good though

I've used a big jubillee clp as a 'second clamp' to cover the area which is leaking....just about does the job. TBH it isn't great for an exhaust costing £300 plus but I just cannot be bothered to fiddle around with it etc.

Mine blows slightly from the centre to BB joint where the clamp had made the slots bulge out but TBH I can't be bothered to get under there and fix it properly.

The breather pipe doesn't have to be connected but you've got to either use a small crankcase filter on the end (preferably routed down to the underside of the car) or an oil catch can.

I use a normal snap-on one too and it fits pretty well:D

40,000rpm is no where near quick enough. Save your money

Mine knocked a bit on the rear mount so I filed out the mount slots so I could slide it further away from the exhaust hangar on the backbox.
