my 1.2 8v (w reg mk2 ph1) has just started making a wierd noise at 3k +. The only way to describe it is a whirrring sound similiar to a super charger Any ideas? (mileage is at 104000 so my initial thoughts are just age but it wasnt making the noise before)

not mine but my sisters She was doing about 50 - 55mph on a dual carriageway and cambelt / timing belt snapped (i assume they are the same things.) what are the likely cost implications. obviously the pistons will be bent but is there a rough idea on cost????????

hello and welcome to cs. i would suggest use anything by auto glym as a beginner :)

wheres the classification for a 1.2 with a tacky halfrauds sport badge therefore making it a fully fledged sport and making it better that a mk2 v6 :p

any idea on how to do it? is the wiring already and is it a matter of changing the stalk and plugging in the lights or is it more complex than that? also is there a good guide someone can show me on how to do it? Thanks

if its anything like a mk2 then the courtesy light and the switch a one thing (ie the light moves like a switch very hard to explain took me a while to find out)
