Dunno, I had mine done in France at a main dealer and was apparently a lot cheaper than over here :)
Maybe 300? Don't slate me if it's not, I'm just guessing lol
I guess it would be yeah. They came on the car when I bought it, so they've lasted at least 4 years / 35k. Not sure how long discs usually last though? The ones I have on at the moment are pretty silent compared to them!
In theory there's less contact area on a grooved disc surface too? Only a...
They're alright, can be a bit loud when you brake though
edit: The only thing I've had to compare them is the OEM disc/pad combo currently on my car (which hasn't been worn in yet)
Unlucky mate :(
Shotgun the bottom end and crankshaft if you have to get a new engine ;)
Engines are 99% the same in the mk1/mk2 forms aren't they? Just the fbw throttle and associated gubbins
IT's so much easier (using that word in relative terms) If you take the dash off as you can tidy the wires and hook up the stalk control. There's not a lot of room behing the headunit (well there wasn't with my sony h/u anyway!)
Aluminium has a natural oxide layer on it anyway (for example when you anodise alu you're effectively colouring the oxide layer). It's probably just s**t getting under the paint isn't it?
Ya they're too hard mate in our mediocre weather :D - just as winter tyres are far too soft for anything above about 10 degrees.
They'd last for ages, but the car might have found a ditch in which to reside by then ;)
No he is right I think. You'd need to use a plastic primer to help it stick but even that won't be perfect. Just don't go near it with a pressure washer! ;)
